Constellation Bowls- rice dish in which each constellation name can mean a different variation of the dish. For example, a Shining Cancer dish is a dish of saffron rice mixed with Aether Hermit meat, grilled Wetland Ghost, Wild Onion, and Golden Pepper. A Roaming Aries dish uses jasmine rice, pickled bamboo shoots, teriyaki Rambra shanks, toasted Fire Ant Larvae, and sashimi Spicy Leaf Sheep.
Death Bite Sashimi- fresh Pufferish and Tropical Seaslug (both local delicacies known for being poisonous) carefully butchered to avoid the bad bits and then sliced razor thin. Each piece is served upon a leaf of Herbal Plantain (an anti-toxin) with Glow Mushroom soy sauce and a side of pickled Irradiated Pear
Eye of the Nebula Salad- a pickled cold salad of Nebula Floater tentacles, Merry Melon, and Field Watcher eyes in a rice wine vinegar and garlic sauce. The Field Watcher eye stalk is mostly sliced thin, though one is typically left whole for presentation.
Mana Morsels- after studying the mana storing abilities of the Mana Thief, food scientists were able to create small spheres of mana in a gelatinous membrane. The spheres often contain vitamins and fruit juice like Aether Cherry, Irradiated Pear, Sour Green Apple, and Raspberry. The perfect pick-me-up for the busy mage!
Amber Candy- using sap harvested from the Starwood Strand this treat often has small insects trapped within for a crunchy bite at the end.
Comet Crunch- a make-your-own bag treat, dragons are given the pick of roasted, dried, fried, salted, sweet, and sour bug mixes. Some typical bugs are the Glitter Lacewing- known for their crunch and salty flavor, Two-Tone June Beetle-lightly toasted with a nutty taste, Noxious Caterpillar- sour yet nutritious, and Tricolor Caterpillar- sweet and colorful. The bags themselves are edible, being made of Sweet Potato starch.
Archivist Special- a cheap noodle dish that can be quickly made in a pot of boiling water, its main ingredients are dried Redwing Hopper flour noodles, Soylent chunks, and a vegetable medley of Manaweed, Leechroot Mushroom, and Wild Onion. Some more upscale versions can be found in restaurants, but the librarians swear by the cheap stuff for their midnight fix.
Satin Mouse Yakitori- meat sliced into pieces or grilled whole on bamboo skewers over a charcoal grill and seasoned with a variety of spices or sauces (most common being Giant Dust Mite…dust and Glow Mushroom soy sauce). While numerous other meats and seafood are prepared this way, the Satin Mouse is the magically delicious specialty of the region.
Aether Cherry Soda- tart and fizzy this drink turns the tongue pink, hatchies often have fun tossing Spearmint candies into them
Java Java- a technique learned from nearby Plague Flight, the blood from Java Sparrows is dried and mixed with Maiden’s Blush and Cinnamon. The powder is then added to hot water and the sweetened with Blood Acorn to give a mulled and heady brew.
Starwood Shimmer- a mix of Ice Flight Vodka, native rose wine, and Star Moss to make a vibrant sparkly drink at night (and supposedly tastes best at night too!)
