I want to ramble about it, so just to be clear... SPOILER ALERT: for chapters 3-4 and of course the new Chapter 5 sneak peek.

First and foremost, WOW. Pluey being Tenna's favorite, Tenna being an ass man, queen sprite of her absolutely ballin and of course....THE SPAMTENNA LORE DROP....

Spamton and Tenna cared about each other, point blank period. I don't really like the whole "Spamton was the bad one" or "Tenna was the bad one" shit some people really like to subscribe to because Toby Fox has made this abundantly clear in his work that he likes characters that are complicated and have flaws, but can still be likeable and good people (Alphys, Toriel, Asgore, etc.) Spamton and Tenna were both selfish and chose the things they thought would ultimately save them from their biggest fears (having no freedom for Spam and being abandoned for Tens which they both naively equate to being successful).

But I think you can really love and care for someone and still make stupid choices, especially when both Spamton and Tenna are very much driven by desperation. Also another thing to note is that Tenna's life lowkey is dependent on the lightners and is very clearly also fearing for his life. Sorry, I just really don't like the idea of Tenna or even Spamton being these "evil irredeemable monsters". They both are stupid and selfish and egotistical but they are also both lovable and funny and have kind hearts!! also I VERY highly doubt they had this toxic yaoi relationship, personally. I think what makes their separation more tragic is that they were probably like two peas in a pod during the big shot era.

One thing I feel like people should be clarified on is Tenna probably thought that bad thing that happened was Spamton abandoning him, he doesn’t seem to know anything about Spamton becoming a puppet or getting kicked out to live in a garbage can. And Spamton also probably thinks Tenna did this all on purpose to fuck him over because he doesn't think Tenna cares about him. HOWEVER, Spamton is now at least canonically aware that Tenna does care because he kept the little pipis that he gave him all those years ago. He was so eager to jump onto the one sign that he was still cared for by his partner all these years later.

This also literally opens back so many questions about who Mike really is. Apparently he cared about Spamton? But also, it could be a lie and if "Friend=Mike" theory and "Friend is a malevolent being" theory is right, it could all be some ploy to ruin Spamton's life. (especially if Friend is working in cahoots with a certain doctor....)Honestly, I really hope we get to find out who mike is because it would kill me not to know what the hell was going on with that!!

There is also something there about Kris paralleling Tenna...like, I highly doubt Kris had any malicious intentions to hurt Dess, but now she's gone and they know they have a part in it and are now riddled with guilt, working with Carol and the Knight (probably to make things right in some way). Tenna, with no malicious intentions, also pressured Spamton into signing that contact despite the warnings that were given to him by Mike, hoping that whatever problems came wouldn't matter because Spamton and Tenna would be successful, and most importantly, together. But now Spamton is also gone. And he is riddled with guilt. His Spammy would still be here and maybe he'd also still be with his family if it wasn't for that stupid contract he made him sign.

But I conclusion, before I drive myself even more insane....I refuse to believe that we have heard the last of Spamton and Tenna. And all I can wish for is that they both have a chance to reconcile!! I need them to be happy!!! Toby Fox please stop killing and torturing us!! Look, all I am saying is...Tenna and Spamton had their noses wrapped around each other in a promo photo for merch. Not in the big shot era designs, but as they stand currently.
