A SAFE PLACE TO BE ONLY IN MY SKIN . . . . I found this while viewing a post attributed to @irishangeleyes2d
The "why" behind women finding their way to sites like tumblr where we are able to anonymously explore, discover, indulge and enjoy finding our "real me"? Yes, but the caption says more: " be only in my skin".
Why am I here? One can read my opening article where I try to explain my reasons. Yet, this caption sums it up. So . . . it stands out, at least for me.
I am able to be open with myself in a way I can't be even with those closest to me. I can share a side of me which might scare even me when it comes to my thoughts. I am able to learn about myself because I can react to and interact with my thoughts, etc, and with others if I wish (here, I call it wandering and wondering) without having to worry about others' opinions or their "good opinion" of me.
Sometimes, in simple captions like these, one can see the oft not acknowledged reason we are "online"? All of us can list the reasons we are "here". Isn't the true reason because we are able to feel safe in our own skin as we enjoy being able to engage here as we do?
How often do we realize in places like these our real selves, discover other interests and indulge in things unexplored which we haven't for any number of reasons?
I share this as I do because I felt this needed to be said because the illustration and the caption led me to
Think about it.
