the soothing sounds of blades gliding and sticks hitting the ice filled your ears as you sat down unbothered in the stands. the penguins were back in pittsburgh for the first practice of the season, and youād been ecstatic when your dad had asked you if you had any intention to join him.
the ambience was familiar, it was something that had been there throughout your entire life, quite literally. you recognized your dadās tall frame first, lanky as he skated left and right with his teammates.

āYeah, just like that.ā You say to the parents as they help guide RJ.
āTheyāve got him, baby. Now please let me get you to the car.ā Mack practically begs you.

Summary:
Everyone at the fundraiser already knows whose ring sits on your finger. Apparently, one person missed the memo.
The evening had started the way many of these charity events do; all done up from head to toe, Sid zipping you into your dress with familiar hands, steadying you when you slipped on your heels.
This time, though, there were the weighted looks sent your way from your now fiancƩ whenever your engagement ring caught the light. Shining in all of its breathtaking glory, much too beautiful to be ignored, let alone the significance of it.
Every few minutes his gaze would drift back to your hand almost absentmindedly, thumb brushing over the diamond whenever he found an excuse to hold it. Like he still couldn't quite believe he'd finally gotten to put it there. As though he was quietly reliving the proposal every single time he looked at it.
Sid looks incredible. Of course he does. Reaching unfair levels of irresistible in the fitted black suit heās wearing tonight for the Black Tie event. All broad shoulders, trim waist, and thick thighs - and lets not even get started on his ass. Hair styled only slightly more than usual, scruff on his face calling your name to come run your hands across his jaw and feel it tickle against your cheek when he nuzzles into you.
The mask is firmly in place though, for the both of you. The ones that are required when thereās this many eyes and cameras on you and Sid. Required when you know just how fast word travels and rumours spread in this industry. So, youāre on your best behaviour: shoulders drawn back as you stand tall, polite smiles, measured expressions and even more measured words. The works.
Itās all for a good cause, helping raise money for young players across various ages to have training camps completely covered, to increase accessibility in the sport so that money isnāt the sole determinant of whether a kid can pursue their dreams. Sid has worked closely with the foundation for nearly a decade, most of the time trying to work behind the scenes or with the kids themselves, but occasionally coming out for networking events such as this one. Because he cares. And Sidney could never show up in any way other than the best he can offer when it comes to things he cares about.
And thatās where your slight annoyance begins. Because much too often, Sidneyās kindness and heart are taken for granted. And thatās where you step in.
You both work the room, arm linked through his or his hand settled warmly on your lower back or hip. Somehow always finding a way to reach for your hand, drawing just enough attention to the glimmer on your finger that people couldn't help but notice.
And itās not like much has really changed with the new addition of the ring anyhow; from the moment Sidney had started introducing you as āhis personā all those years ago, everyone knew: you were it for him. It was clear to see. And since then, everyone treated you as āMrs. Crosbyā, referred to you as āMrs. Crosbyā, and despite the way you would laugh them off and say, āTechnically not yet,ā everyone knew.
Apparently everyone but Melanie.
You donāt notice her right away. Really, you donāt. Sheās just another member of the foundation in a sea of well-dressed people, moving between conversations with a practiced smile and clipboard tucked neatly against her side. It isnāt until sheās found Sidney for the third time in the span of thirty minutes that you begin to connect the dots.
The first interaction earns nothing more than a glance from you. Youāre in your own conversation, just taking a second to find where Sidney is amongst all of the bustle. You note from across the room as she offers him another drink, gesturing towards the bar with manicured nails. Sid smiles that polite, unmistakably Sidney Crosby smile. āNo, thank you,ā he says warmly. āIām all set.ā Still, she lingers. You donāt think anything of it, continuing on with your own interaction.
The second time, she pulls him away while paying absolutely no mind to you and the other couple he had just been engaged with, insisting on showing him a few of the silent auction items personally. āI appreciate it,ā he says kindly, ābut I was actually going to look at them a little later with my fiancĆ©e.ā His eyes find yours as he says it. The tiniest lift of his eyebrows. The sort of look only you would ever recognize.
Help.
And he looks so handsome. So cute when heās trying to be polite. You bite the inside of your cheek to keep from laughing. He catches it, rolls his eyes just enough for you to notice before making his polite escape from her. And it's almost endearing.
The third time, sheās telling him about a restaurant sheād discovered in Pittsburgh, āI think youād really like it.ā
āThat sounds nice,ā Sid replies easily. āIāll have to take my fiancĆ©e there sometime,ā he says pointedly.
Another clear opening. Another gentle decline. Another opportunity for her to excuse herself. But insteadā¦
āOh! You two donāt live together yet?ā
You nearly choke on your champagne. Sid blinks once, caught off guard. āWe do.ā
āAnd youāre engaged?ā
āI am. Happily.ā
A beat passes, she musters as bright of a smile as she can manage, āCongratulations!ā
And that should have been the end of it. Really, it should have. Then, she continues walking beside him anyways. You exchange another look with Sid, his brown eyes widening in one that says, sheās still here.
And this time you do laugh into your drink. Because for a little while, itās honestly funny. You know Sidney. Heās been captain of an NHL team for nearly two decades. Has been the face of Hockey Canada for almost as long. Is one of the most recognizable people in the sport. And somehow, heās the one silently pleading for you to come rescue him from across a ballroom.
Not even twenty minutes later, your head is thrown back in laughter at a joke one of the Penguins wives had made. Your shoulders shaking as you try to catch your breath, you find Sid in your periphery trying his absolute hardest to catch your eye without being too obvious. Melanieās hand is on his arm while steering him toward ājust one more donor.ā
Your laughter dies out almost immediately at how clearly uncomfortable heās becoming, mouthing seriously?
He gives the smallest shrug, shoulders tense, Iām trying.
And you know he is. Thatās the thing. Heās handling it exactly the way youād expect him to; kind, patient, respectful. Never giving anything more than a polite conversation. Always finding a reason to mention you or circle back to you. Never once encouraging it. Yet somehow⦠she just isnāt taking the hint.
The amusement you had felt earlier starts wearing thin. Not because youāre worried; you arenāt. You trust Sidney with every part of yourself. Trust him in any room, with anyone. But watching someone repeatedly ignore the boundaries heās so carefully trying to draw begins to feel less amusing and more⦠disrespectful.
The final straw comes nearly an hour later.
Sid has finally managed to escape long enough to crouch beside one of the young players attending the fundraiser, listening with complete focus as the girl excitedly tells him about her first year of travel hockey. Her parents stand nearby, looking like theyāre trying not to burst into tears at how happy she is.
This.
This is why Sid comes.
Itās not for the cameras, or the speeches, itās definitely not for the networking.
Itās for them.
You see Melanie approaching before Sid does, and already you can feel your smile drop and your shoulders raise. Grip tightening around the stem of your glass.
She slips between him and the little girl, completely blocking Sidney from the family with the most disingenuous apologetic smile youāve ever seen. āSid! Sorry to interrupt, but thereās another table of donors hoping to get a photo with you.ā
And the effect is instant. You watch the way his smile falters for the briefest second, jaw clenching just so as he straightens slowly. The easy, open body language he'd worn only moments ago is nowhere to be found.
He turns back to the family first, crouching down once more in front of the young player, gaze flickering between her and her family. āIām so sorry,ā he says. āIt was really nice meeting you all.ā He catches the young girl's eyes with his own, āIāll find you a little later so you can keep telling me all about your last roadtrip, okay?ā
The little girl absolutely beams. Her parents thank him. Sid smiles once more before allowing himself to be pulled away. You donāt miss the way his lips press into a thin line.
And thatās enough.
ā
You find them near one of the sponsor displays. Melanie is standing just a little too close. Laughing just a little too loudly. Her hand lands on his forearm again as she says something. But Sidās not paying attention to her when he notices you before youāve even reached them.
The change is immediate.
His eyes soften the second they meet yours, relief flickering across his face before he can hide it. His shoulders loosen. His hands relax. The tension leaves his expression almost instantly. Like heād been waiting for you.
You slide naturally into the space beside him, his hand finding yours without hesitation. Warm fingers threading effortlessly between your own before his thumb drifts absentmindedly over the engagement ring heād placed there only a short while ago.
He does it now without even realizing. Grounding himself in whatās already becoming a small habit.
Melanie laughs lightly. āOh no,ā she says. āAm I monopolizing him?ā
You smile politely, eyes narrowing just so. āLittle bit.ā
Sidās lips twitch. He drops his head ever so slightly, clearly trying - and failing - not to laugh. Before anyone can say another word-
āThere you are!ā The executive director of the foundation appears seemingly out of nowhere. āMrs. Crosby!ā
Heās wrapping you in a quick hug before you can correct him.
āWeāre just about ready for you whenever you are. Thank you again for agreeing to speak tonight - it means more than you know.ā
You laugh, āIām more than happy to be here, thank you for giving me the opportunity. And you know itās not technically Mrs. Crosby yet.ā
He waves you off easily, āClose enough.ā
Sid chuckles beside you, the hand not fiddling with your ring sliding around your waist and pulling you back into him without a second thought. āIāve been calling her that for years.ā
The director smiles warmly, āWell, weāre lucky to have both of you. You both do so much for our cause. Is there anything I can do before we head over?ā
āNo,ā you answer kindly. āWeāre all set, thank you.ā
āPerfect. Iāll come grab you in just a few minutes.ā
And as quickly as he arrived, heās gone. Silence settles afterwards. When you glance back towards Melanie, who had been standing there observing the whole time, understanding finally dawns across her face. āOh.ā
Her eyes flick briefly to your hand. To the ring. To the way Sid continues to thumb over it like something precious. To Sidneyās other hand still wrapped around your waist.
āIāmā¦sorry,ā she says quietly. āI didnāt realize.ā
āItās alright,ā you say. Then, āHe meant it every time he mentioned me.ā
She excuses herself a moment later. No scene. No embarrassment. Just understanding that shouldāve come much earlier. Sid waits until sheās well out of earshot before letting out a long breath, thumb stroking against your hip.
āSoā¦ā you start, looking up at him innocently, āLooked like you were having fun over there.ā
He groans softly. āBaby.ā You laugh. āI was trying so hard to be polite.ā
You nod, still laughing softly, āI know. You were.ā
āI thought mentioning my fiancĆ©e wouldāve done it.ā
āSo did I.ā
He shakes his head, almost disbelieving. āI didnāt want to embarrass her.ā
āI know you didnāt.ā
His thumb turns your engagement ring once more, absentmindedly, āI was starting to run out of ideas.ā
You laugh, leaning further into his body as you look up at him. āGood thing youāve got me.ā
And the practised smiles expected at events like these turns into something real, his softening into one that only ever belongs to you. āThe best thing Iāve got.ā
He lifts your joined hands, pressing a quiet kiss against the diamond before meeting your eyes again, just taking a moment to breathe you in. For just a few seconds, the noise of the ballroom fades into the background.
You squeeze his hand, āReady to go help some kids?ā
He drops a lingering kiss to your temple, hand squeezing yours as he murmurs, āAlways.ā
This ended up being shorter than intended, sorry lol, hope you guys liked it though š

Prompt: a summer day with the celebrini family is just what you needed. the lake day, your boyfriend, the sun, it was all perfect, until it wasnāt. because of a careless person you switch into nurse mode as rj celebrini gets injured in front of you
It was one of those perfect summer days. Youāre with Mack and his family, Rick driving the boat around while Mack and Aiden flip off, while you and Robyn sit with floppy hats in the front as you laugh together.
Your job far behind you, the few weeks you have away from the hospital have you glowing. You love your job truly, but thereās nothing better than the way the sun hits Macklin Celebrini. Thereās nothing better than his laugh, than his eyes shining, than the feeling of his warm hands running up and down your arms as you lean into his chest.
āAre you ready yet?ā You hear the voice of RJ ask Mack.
Your eyes are closed, relaxing as the sun shines down on your skin. Your head is resting on Macklinās chest, and you can feel his grip tighten on you as he grumbles.

The Invite
Intro part 1 part 2 part 3
noteā i actually enjoyed writing this part i think its definitely a bit longer than part 2 but im so excited to get further into the story yk feedback is always welcomed if you have any!! i hope u guys like part 3
The opening beat echoed throughout the arena as you stepped up to the spotlight, the noise of fans cheering was dimmed by your ear mointer clicking to the beat of the song. The bright stage lights made it partically impossible to see anybody in the crowd, turing thousands of people into a blur. Your dancers made their way into the positions you'd praticed for weeks.
You grip the mic your palms a little clamy from nerves but by the time you reach the first chorus, the nerves have melted away. The faint cheers and singing along only pushed your confidence higher.
By the second song, the broadcast camera began cutting around the arena. Fans filling the screen before it cuts over to the Sharks bench where your eyes landed on Will. He was staring at you with a look you couldn't place, his eyes never leaving you not even to glance at a teammate making a joke.
During the final note of the last song, the arena was filled with applause and cheers loud enough for you to feel the vibrations in your chest.
āāāāāāāāāā ā āāāāāāāāāā
A few minutes later, once the stage was cleared off the ice and the warmups began, Will was trying to skate away from Misa relentless teasing "Wow Will you looked a little too invested in that performance, didn't know you were such a music fan" He says snorting.
āI was just watching the show like everyone else" Will says shooting him a glare at the fact he called him out. "Watching the show? you barley blinked during half of it" Misa laughs. Before Will would answer Toffoli skated over.
"What's going on?" he asks, Misa grinned "Oh you know just talking about Y/n performance" Toffoli looked at Will, then bursted out laughing "Oh my God, you were staring at Macklin's sister he was already pissed about your comment now this?"
Will rolled his eyes "I wasn't starting", "Really?" Misa said. "Because everytime I looked over you were pratically drooling" "Can you two just drop it" Will sighs. Toffoli smirks at his answer "So that's a yes".
Will shakes his head "It was nothing, don't say anything to Mack" he said skating away. The second those words left his mouth, both Misa and Toffoli looked at eachother. Misa raises an eyebrow "Intresting"
āHe definitely likes her itās kinda patheticā Toffoli says, Misa canāt even answer before Macklin skates over āWho likes who?ā he asks
Toffoli looks down at the ice doing anything but making eye contact with Macklin. Misa pats his shoulder awkwardly "Nothing". "You guys are acting so werid" Macklin says. "We're always werid" They push off before Macklin could ask another question, he watches them skate away narrowing his eyes he definitely knows something is up.
āāāāāāāāāā ā āāāāāāāāāā
The rest of the night seemed to fly by.
You could barely catch your breath before being pulled away for interviews, photos and congratulations from your staff. By the time you changed into your regular clothes, obviously wearing Macklins jersey and got to the family room it was already puck drop.
Puck drop turned into 3 periods and before you knew it the buzzer was ringing throughout the arena as the Sharks win. You immediately jump up cheering almost spilling your pop everywhere. The camera panned on the team all celebrating.
As the sharks celebrate, Willās eyes already drifted up at the family box ignoring the partying happening beside him, Sam snaps him out of it bringing Will back into the moment of cheers and yells.
Once the noise quieted down and most people started to leave you make your way to the tunnel, leaning against the wall waiting for Macklin. You lift your head at the sound of footsteps thinking itās your brother, but you see Will instead.
āHey you played great!ā You say with a bright smile pulling him into a hug. Will stiffens slightly before melting into it. āThanks we triedā He said with a small smirk causing you to giggle.
āSo there is this party at a near by bar if you wanted to come you know celebrate your performance and our winā Will says scratching the back of his neck, nervous that you will say no.
āYeah! sure that sounds funā You say excited at the fact you can go out and meet more people, instead of being trapped in your apartment writing songs all the time.
Will smiles the second you agree to come. āGreat uh so see you thereā he says giving you a slight nod before walking away, you turn around slightly to watch him go, and make eye contact when he turned around to look at you too his face flushing before immediately turning forward.
Eventually Macklin walks out of the locker room and you jog over enveloping him in a tight hug āAh you were amazing!ā you say with a slight squeal.
āThank youā he says grinning down at you. āSo Will invited me to this after party thing you going?ā you ask.
He pauses after hearing this āWill invited you?ā Macklin says suddenly more cold than he was a moment ago. āYeah he said people were going to celebrate the winā you reply your head slightly tilting at his sudden change of tone.
āNo yeah Iām going just didnāt think he would invite youā Macklin answered his voice still flat as he stares at the ground. āOkay well letās go I wanna get drunk!ā you laughed walking towards the exit.

i can't keep fighting // ws2 x reader
pairing: will smith x reader
summary: your boyfriend, will, and you have been fighting nonstop recently. you missing his softball game is the last straw.
warning(s): emotional roller coaster, misdirected frustrations, pent-up anger, verbal disputes
words: 1.5k
where there used to be nothing but pure bliss and contentment, there happens to be a deep cut ofĀ every harsh word either of us has said recently.Ā
ourĀ last fight still lingers in theĀ sair, even days later.Ā
ourĀ typical routine as of late has been to come home, a small frustrationĀ getĀ picked up andĀ blown completely out of proportion, and both of us going to bed angry and hurt.Ā
though usually, we bounce back from an argumentĀ relatively quickly, the words of our dispute a coupleĀ nightsĀ ago sting just as badly as theyĀ did in the moment.Ā
and the worst part?Ā
itāsĀ unbelievably easy for anyone to pinpoint exactlyĀ whatāsĀ been causingĀ allĀ this mess...Ā
exhaustion.Ā
between willās tedious work schedule and his body practically shutting down at the end of each day and my personal long hours ofĀ dedication being poured into what it takes to get into the medical field nowadays,Ā itāsĀ safe to say thatĀ weāreĀ constantlyĀ worn out.Ā
never tired enough to avoid a fight though.Ā
andĀ thatāsĀ the problem.Ā
the dishesĀ werenātĀ done?Ā well, who was the last person to leave the house this morning?Ā
theĀ wrong brand of something wasĀ purchasedĀ at the grocery store? it boils down to however many hours of sleepĀ the shopper hadĀ hadĀ the nightĀ before, the minimal hours being blamed on the other person for some reason.Ā
the laundry isĀ piling up?Ā howĀ the hellĀ do you even have time to wear so many clothes whenĀ youāreĀ so busy doing everything else?Ā
itāsĀ a never-ending cycle.Ā
andĀ iāveĀ honestlyĀ had it.Ā
normally, regardless of how many timesĀ weāveĀ argued, what my original plans were for the evening, or even ifĀ iĀ didnātĀ haveĀ the mental capacity to leave the apartment for anything other than chores or school,Ā iādĀ attend willās softball games.Ā
theĀ importance of my attendance at these games happened to be absolute.Ā
thereĀ wasnātĀ nearly asĀ much pressure for me toĀ attend justĀ oneĀ of his hockey games throughout the season, butĀ the idea of me missing a softball game to even float around had been completely unheard of.Ā
untilĀ tonight.Ā
wrecked afterĀ a long day of my work study, trying to cash in as many hours asĀ iĀ can before the cycle ends,Ā iĀ have no motivationĀ left to go to this game.Ā
myĀ eyes are practically closing on their own, and the thought of doing anything but showering and getting into bed is daunting.Ā
against my best judgement,Ā iĀ decideĀ itāsĀ probably bestĀ thatĀ iĀ donātĀ text will about my missing attendance to avoid another spat right before he plays.Ā
theĀ regret of this lapse in thought hitsĀ me when the front door slams closed, efficiently startling me awake.Ā
heāsĀ crossed the apartment in a heartbeat,Ā stoppingĀ in the doorway as he tosses his keys onto the dresser right next to the door.Ā
itĀ sends a stack of myĀ neatly organizedĀ notes spewing across the surface.Ā
squinting,Ā iĀ prop up on one of my elbows, not even fully conscious yet.Ā
āwhyĀ are you throwing things?Ā whatĀ is your issue?āĀ
iĀ regret saying it as soon as the words leave my mouth.Ā heĀ scoffs loudly, shaking his head and walking further into the room. āmyĀ issue?āĀ
hisĀ handĀ rubs atĀ his mouth in a frustrated manner, and from my position on the bedĀ iĀ can see theĀ darkĀ eye bags startingĀ to take shape from his long day.Ā
āmyĀ issueĀ is thatĀ iĀ do so much for us, and none of my efforts are ever fucking returned.Ā iĀ do this one thing forĀ myselfāa fun hobby thatĀ iĀ thought we both were in full support ofājust to find out that my girlfriend doesnāt even careĀ enoughĀ to show up for me anymore,ā his tone harsh, but not in aĀ diminishing way.Ā itāsĀ intense in a way that tells me thatĀ heāsĀ hurtĀ beyond belief, and this is his way ofĀ deflecting his feelings.Ā
on anyĀ other night,Ā iĀ wouldāveĀ picked up any part of his words and just ran with it. but tonight is not like any other night.Ā
not whenĀ iāmĀ tired to the point of genuineĀ tears.Ā Ā
the frustration of our fights, of our distance, of the small ways thatĀ iāveĀ slowly started to feel so unwelcome in his orbit.Ā itĀ hits meĀ all at once.Ā
itāsĀ embarrassing how quickly the atmosphere shifts, how easily my eyes produce wells of tears while my voiceĀ canātĀ seem to form a single word.Ā
iĀ sputter, opening and closing my mouthĀ several times before shaking my head and collapsing back onto the pillows, hands coming up to cover my face.Ā
everythingĀ feels likeĀ itāsĀ bubbled under the surface, building up to this exact moment.Ā
iāmĀ fully expecting another argument, forĀ will toĀ questionĀ why the hellĀ iāmĀ crying whenĀ heāsĀ the oneĀ whoāsĀ hurt.Ā
theĀ impact never comes.Ā
instead,Ā thereāsĀ a pause of silence before the sudden weight of his armĀ curling around my waist tugs me into his chest. the small, but effectiveĀ gesture sending me further into my hysterics.Ā
his free hand brushes my hair as the otherĀ remainsĀ around my waist, his tone quieter than it has been in weeks: ābaby.āĀ
iĀ canāt stop crying.Ā snifflesĀ escape me one after another, doing nothing toĀ actually helpĀ me clear my nose.Ā
ābaby,ā he tries again. āwhatāsĀ the matter?Ā whatāsĀ upsetting you so much?āĀ
iĀ try my best to speak, to make sense of the hundreds of thoughts circulating my mind. it only comes out a jumbled mess.Ā
āi- you-ā small hiccups of breathĀ interuptingĀ every other word. āfightingĀ all theĀ time.Ā iĀ canāt-Ā iāmĀ so tired.āĀ
his movementĀ donātĀ stop, and his tone has entered a mode of fully trying to understandĀ whatāsĀ happening to me right now.Ā
āyouāreĀ tired? of fighting all the time?ā voice soft, trying his best not to put words in my mouth if thatĀ wasnātĀ whatĀ iĀ meant.Ā
but he was right on the dot.Ā
iĀ can feel my head nod against his chest, my actions not feeling like they belong to me much right now.Ā
āiĀ feel likeĀ i-ā rubbing my eyes much harsher than anyone couldĀ deemĀ helpful in my case. āiāmĀ not even wanted around anymore,ā a fresh sob escaping me.Ā
āwhichĀ is fine,Ā iĀ just-Ā iĀ need to know soĀ iĀ can stop feeling like itās all in my head.āĀ
thatāsĀ what gets him to stop.Ā
everythingĀ feels as if it pauses in this moment.Ā
myĀ words sink into every crevice of his brain, and knowing him,Ā heāsĀ hearing itĀ over and over.Ā not even wanted around.Ā
heĀ pulls back from me with only enough distance to be able to look at my face.Ā heĀ looks utterlyĀ stupefied.Ā
āyouĀ feel likeĀ iĀ donāt want you around?ā his voiceĀ almostĀ silentālike if he says it any louder then it may actually be true.Ā
sadly, itĀ didnātĀ have to be said any louder to be just as true.Ā iĀ nod again, my expression on display this time.Ā
heĀ shakes his head slowly at first, and then faster as the horror settles in. the realization that he had made me feel this way sinking into reality.Ā
hisĀ words come out rushed, as if trying to do damage control as quickly as possible.Ā
āno... no, no, no, no. baby,Ā iĀ would neverĀ everĀ think that.Ā i-ā his mouth is slightly agapeĀ as he shakes his head, shocked thatĀ heādĀ so absentmindedly let things get so far out of hand. āiĀ love you more than anything.Ā iĀ never intended to make you feel like this.Ā iāmĀ so fucking sorry.āĀ
myĀ tears have mostly concluded, but my sniffles continue to reign on.Ā iĀ can barely make eye contact with him asĀ iĀ speak.Ā
āiĀ canātĀ keep fighting, will.Ā itāsĀ exhausting,Ā iāmĀ so tired.āĀ
heĀ brushes my hair out of my face, nodding in agreement. āweĀ wonāt,ā the words more certain than anythingĀ iāveĀ heard in a long time. āiāmĀ done fighting.Ā iāmĀ so sorry,Ā baby.Ā iāmĀ not here to fight anymoreānot over silly things, not when it makes you feel like this.āĀ
iĀ donāt respond for a moment, watching him gently.Ā heĀ means it.Ā itāsĀ written all over his face thatĀ heāsĀ done with the petty arguments and tiring exchanges.Ā
āiāmĀ sorryĀ iĀ couldnātĀ come to your-āĀ
heĀ cuts me off, stealing a soft kiss.Ā
āyouĀ have nothing to be sorry for. you could miss every single one, andĀ iādĀ just beĀ happy to be ableĀ to come home to you at the end of the day.āĀ
withĀ that, he tucks me into his chest again.Ā Ā
hisĀ heart beats loudly againstĀ myĀ ear, and for what feels like the first time in weeks, both of us catch a good nightās rest.Ā
