Antonio Delgado, a Democrat making his first run for office, is challenging Representative John Faso in a key battleground race in New York.
Antonio Delgado just got $50 from me because these ads, and the racist Republicans running them, are complete and utter bullshit.

Last year, on my 35th birthday, I decided to go a year without buying new things. I took inventory of what I had, thought about what I needed, and committed to repair, substitute, find, borrow, or do without, before shopping for and buying a new thing. I didn’t want this to limit any fun or adventure in my life, so I was open to buying things when they supported new hobbies or opportunities for fun experiences. I was also comfortable replacing things when they wore out because they were getting heavy use (*). I wrote down every durable thing I bought, whether it was used or new. Here is all of it.
The purpose of this whole undertaking was to try and live a less consumer driven life. Not that I was a huge shopper before — “retail therapy” was never really my thing — but I definitely appreciated nice things and felt entitled to them as a benefit of (or a balm for) living a higher-stress, higher-earning lifestyle. I’d kind of stopped seeing the bounty in what I already had, and I was covetous of the shiny things I saw other people had. I wanted to see how a mindset of just taking acquisition off the table might free up that mental space to focus on other, more joyful aspects of daily life. Each one of these purchases was considered. I can tell you where all of them are, and they have all added something good to my life in the last year. I’ve been learning how to surf and getting out into the wilderness. I’m baking bread and nurturing my plants. I took the most peaceful trips to Baja California and the Lost Coast. I started a new job that I love. I got my phone out of my bedroom once and for all. I make my morning coffee by the cup and take that moment to ease myself into the day. I healed my chaos dog (and she still sheds her weight in fur). I am so grateful for all of the friends and family who gave me thoughtful gifts or lent me various cool things this year. I tried to be generous with the people around me (friends, family and strangers) and I think I mostly succeeded, though I know I can do better. Here’s to one more year.
I am so angry.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the balm for my Kavanaugh depression
Seriously, give this woman the Nobel Prize for maintaining my sanity in these troubled times

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the balm for my Kavanaugh depression
Oh hey Ross I think you meant to say “Kavanaugh’s history of sexual assault and his persistent failure to accept responsibility for his conduct Is Dangerous for the Pro-Life Movement because it shows clearly that the ‘movement’ is populated by men (and women) who disrespect the choices and autonomy of women and is not actually about saving the lives of children who would otherwise not be born,” there I fixed it for you

“People scream from their balconies, ‘Don’t play here!’ But where else are we supposed to play? And they tell us: ‘Don’t play so loud!’ But how do you play not loud?” (Cairo, Egypt)
