There’s really no way for gay men to talk about how our maleness is part of our oppression without someone (you know the type) deliberately misrepresenting our words and going “so you think you’re oppressed for being men???” Like. No. That’s not what we’re saying. But by inserting yourself in a Gay Male conversation and shutting it down you’ve signaled to us that you aren’t interested in discussing this in good faith which is why we’d rather not entertain your opinion at all.

It’s very funny how far removed the tumblr understanding of Stonewall is from the actual truth. It’s like Arthurian legend where new authors just keep adding new events and characters and eventually it gets accepted as canon until there’s really nothing in common with the actual historical events.
