Just a serf who happens to be a psyker

Dean woke up hours later sitting up wincing as he did so looking around to see that they were back at the ruin’s entrance. He looked over to see the others wearing worried expressions making him look down in response to the guilt over taking him. The younger astarte knew that he shouldn’t have recklessly done what he did but he couldn’t just let Gadriel get hurt. Lost in thought he jolted slightly when he felt a tap on his shoulder looking up to see Chairon holding a bowl out to him “eat brother” the other said to him. Taking the bowl from the other “t-thanks” he said softly before blowing on it to cool it before he started eating. When he finished he set the dish off to the side just as Titus came over to check on him looking over the wound frowning “looks a bit better but its healing slow” was all the lieutenant said. Hearing this made the apothecary frown in response as he looked down at it too seeing the other was right. Normally his healing was slower than others but it never took this long part of him wondered if something in this world caused it. But shook the thought from his head, deciding to not think about it too much knowing it would just make him worry. Standing up he took a moment to steady himself “w-we should h-head out” he said to the other three. Titus grabbed him by the shoulder in response “we can head out in a bit you need to heal” he tells him. But the younger one just shook him off “I-I’ll be fine, b-besides I’ll heal during the w-walk” he tells him. The older man went to say something but Chairon stepped in before he could “alright but you need to promise that if you start to feel off you tell us” he tells him. Dean gave a nod showing he promised to tell someone he started to feel off. Chairon shook his head “no you have to promise Dean I want to hear you say it” voice serious as he spoke. The younger was silent for a moment before he looked up, “I-I promise” he softly said to him. That seemed to satisfy the other as he turned around and cleaned up with younger people's help. Titus and Gadriel helped too but were less than happy to be leaving the old ruins with their injured apothecary. But went with it due to the other promising if he felt off they’d tell one of them so they let it go for now.  

Stepping out of the ruins they made their way down the mountain back to the road to Whiterun. The walk down was easier than it was going up along the way they even stopped to return the claw they found. Before they headed back to Whiterun, the walk was much more peaceful this time since they didn’t have anything trying to attack them this time. Entering the front gates they made their way back to Dragonsreach walking in they made a beeline for where the court wizard was. Walking in, Dean got the others' attention “h-here you go w-we got the thing y-you asked for” he tells him. Farengar’s face lit up as he took the tablet from Dean thanking him and the other three telling them he didn’t need their assistance anymore as of now. But as he finished a voice was calling out to him as Irileth came round the corner “Farengar, you need to come at once a dragon has been spotted” she tells him out of breath. Her attention then  turns to the four “you four come too” she tells him before running off Farengar right behind her. Dean looked at the others' worry written all over his face as he followed the courtwizard and housecarl. They made it to where the jarl was standing talking with a city guard who told him about the dragon and what it had done and was currently doing. 

Balgruuf thanked him before sending him on his way to go rest in the barracks then turned his attention to Irileth ordering her to gather some guards. He gave a satisfied nod when she told him she already did then turned his attention to the four. The man begged them to help one more time in taking care of the dragon for the city, mentioning Dean's experience. The Jarl even added they could now buy a house in the city and handed over what looked to be an axe to them. Dean looked to the other four who gave a nod to him before he took the axe, agreeing to help the jarl out. He saw how relieved Balgruuf looked, the man thanking him and the others once again for their help. Dean gave a slight bow before he made his way to where the other guards were going to meet. Hearing the jarl talking to Farengar and Irileth as they walked away telling them what they need to do and adding for Irileth to not be reckless. Walking out of Dragonsreach the four made their way over to the main gate where the guards were gathering. Seeing only about four guards standing about conversing with each other about what was going on. Only to stop when Irilith walked over to them the guards suddenly stood at attention. She stood before them as she told them about the dragon they were about to go fight, pausing to give the guards a moment to let it sink in. Before she continued with her speech about going to fight the dragon riling up the guards before she led them out of the gates. The four followed after her and the city guard as they ran to the tower in the distance.  

Coming to a stop before it they slowly stepped closer before a man came out looking panicked. The man looked between them “no get back,its still here somewhere, Hroki and Tor just got grabbed when they tried to make a run for it” his voice filled with fright. Irileth stepped forward “Guardsmen what happened here?” she asked alert as she looked around “where’s the dragon?” she added still looking. The Guard looked around too “I don’t know” they shrilly responded before a roar was heard suddenly “Kynareth protect us here it comes again!” he yelpped. Sure enough in the distance looked to be a large flying lizard coming right toward them. Seeing this everyone pulled out their weapons while Dean ste his hand alight with fire as Irileth spoke “Here it comes make every arrow count” she tells them as it fell upon them. Everyone fought with everything they had as it gnashed and breathed fire at them from time to time Dean would heal everyone. And when it laned Titus and Gadriel attack it in melee until finally the beast was felled it letting out a final roar. Dean listened as it did so hearing it shout “DOVAHKIIN NO!” before laying dead as he stepped toward it to be sure it was. Seeing that it wasn’t gonna get up he turned to let Irileth and the others know before a crackled like something burning was heard followed by a whoosh. For a moment his vision blurred as some strange ethereal affect seemed to surround him before it was gone. Blinking his eyes a few times before he could see again looking at everyone staring at him now surprised written all over their faces.
