Not in death, but just in sleep, the fateful prophecy you'll keep. And from this slumber you shall wake, when true love's kiss, the spell shall break.
SLEEPING BEAUTY 1959, dir. Clyde Geronimi, Eric Larson, Wolfgang Reitherman, Les Clark
Hope everyone's been doing exceptionally! I successfully moved into my new apartment over the weekend and have been settling in since. I'm still undergoing a revamp on this account (along with my other pages, namely Snow White which featured a URL change, Cinderella, and Ariel- whose URL change is yet to come), so it'll be a little more quiet, but I'm still active and am planning a few things that'll be exciting soon! Again, feel free to message me at any point- I'm still open to plotting and communicating OOC! I might be a little slower at this time, with all the changes going on in my life, but Aurora is still alive and well 🥰

The christening that marks the beginning of Aurora's story commences a week after she is born, to the day.
A July Leo, the little Princess arrives into the world at the height of a flourishing summer heat, when the golden sun is at its most brilliant. Her mother was a deeply spiritual woman, a quality Aurora would inherit from her, and considered the strong daylight to be a good omen for her daughter's future health.
The path to carrying a child had been an arduous one for the Queen, the royalty concerned for her welfare after the suffering of many stillbirths. When she initially discovered she had been pregnant with Aurora, she was buoyantly joyful until the Court Physician told her she likely could not have the baby and live. Devastated, she beseeched the Three Good Fairies to search for another opinion. Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather sought out all the wizards and wise men of the realm before they happened upon a young doctor who was convinced the Queen could have the baby if she stayed in bed nearly the entire time of her pregnancy. The King was so loving and attentive to his wife during this time.
Now, as the happy news of his daughter's safe arrival reached him, Stefan- too- seemed enveloped by the embrace of the dancing sunbeams on that July day. Like his daughter would later be, he was of an expressive, poetic nature. To his Queen, he suggested the name Aurora- after the dawn- for she filled their lives with sunshine and so that all days could be as golden and warm as this one. They planned for the christening to be a full seven days out, as was the custom at the time due to the mortality rate. A master calligraphist who successfully copied many legal documents by his own hand, the King set about penning and addressing all the invitations personally.
Now, on the very first day of August, the July heat gave way to a balmy breeze. As all gathered around the castle gates, the name of the infant Princess was finally announced. Taken by the song of her epithet, the Knights and Ladies, townspeople and peasants, all joint in song to the processional chorale, "Hail to the Princess Aurora."

You cannot make everyone think and feel as deeply as you do. This is your tragedy … because you understand them, and they do not understand you.

Just a quick reminder that I've recently updated my URL and am currently going through a revamp! Still open to new friends and plotting though, as always 🥰

Sleeping Beauty (1959) dir. Clyde Geronimi
Hello, Princess! First of all I want to say I'm so glad for the opportunity to speak with you. Yours has always been one of my favorite stories ever since I was a child. And so I was wondering, do you have any stories that are your favorite or hold special meaning for you?
"Oh, the pleasure is mine- truly, dear one," the ordinarily calm Princess rushes to reciprocate the visitor's loving warmth. "I so appreciate how near my tale is to your heart. Apart from the story of Snow White, I have two chief entrants. The first is of a more personal nature- Rapunzel. I was always so fascinated by how she expressed herself through song. I know what it is to feel that you have only the trees and the birds about you for company. I get so taken in when her Prince discovers her through her voice. I can understand her in how hesitant she is when he first enters her tower, despite her very much wanting him there. Even how she weighs going with her Prince to staying in the Tower by her maiden mother is something quite familiar to me. And, of course, those lovely tresses that could cover twenty ells in depth utterly captivated me! The second, though not as known, is one I've often heard Aunt Fauna sparkle over. She calls it The Nightingale. Its King hails from a distant land. He wishes for treasures to be brought to him, each finer than the last. One day, he finds himself the most drawn to a seemingly ordinary bird of the forest. Its song touches the King deeply, and he finds its melody could never be duplicated, not even through the efforts of the wisest men and greatest wizards of his Kingdom."
