Around a week ago I had the weirdest dream.. I saw and remembered one of the scenes very vividly, so I decided to draw it
I especially remember Harryβs expression.. so tired and almost.. disappointed? not sure if I managed to capture it
Side note: I have no idea whatβs happening here and I donβt think there was any context in the dream either. I told you it was weird lol
Also these two had a relationship similar to Joker and Batmanβs from βLego Batmanββ¦.. I TOLD YOU IT WAS WEIRD
First off: love the art.
Second: I read a lot of Tomarry fics (mainly ones where Tom, and sometimes Voldemort, show Harry more kindness then the 'good' in the Canon universe.) and when I saw this my brain immediately thought of something.
(Lamb for slaughter AU) {Legit just thought of this on the fly}
Harry and Voldemort were having, what should have been their last, duel. Voldemort was winning, throwing curse after curse at Harry, not noticing he never heard any screaming. But by the time the duel was over, Voldemort stood over Harry. Yet, instead of feeling triumphant he felt... Confused.
He wasn't looking down at a boy who believed he would win, but a boy who looked tired, defeated, and broken. It was as if Harry was tired of fighting. And Voldemort had a feeling it wasn't just him Harry was fighting.
Voldemort's triumphant speech was caught in his throat, and all he could say was "Tell me, Potter, what life have you had till now?" Harry, thinking he had nothing left to lose, explained everything. The Dursley(?), the trials from first year, the blaming in second year, the fear and confusion of third year, the isolation and terror from fourth year, the secret and heartache for fifth year, the confusion and lies from sixth year, and the paranoia, betrayal, fear, lost, and lies from the current year.
He explained how everything had this vision of him, and the stress of keeping up the image. The pain that no child should go through. The lies. The secret. And the fact that the man he looked up to, Dumbledore, was not who he seemed.
He knew of the Dursleys yet still sent him to live with them, the letter to Hogwarts was addressed to 'the cupboard under the stairs' for Merlin sake. He let people blame Harry for the petrifaction of students in second year, knowing it wasn't him. And from then on, it was just like after lie, after lie. Then he found out the truth, he was raised as lamb for slaughter, ready to die when he needed to. So now, he was just tired of it all. He never wanted this, he was only a child.
After hearing his words, Voldemort felt pity for the boy. He pointed his wand to Harry's head, and watched as Harry just closed his eyes. "You may rest now, Harry Potter." With that he performed the killing curse, a quick and painless death, faster then falling asleep.
But as we know, Harry held a part of Voldemort's soul, and he found himself in King's cross station for the final time. But instead of Dumbledore being there, he was met with different versions of Tom Riddle/Voldemort. Each one held an item that once contained a part of Voldemort's soul.
The one to step forward was the youngest/oldest, the diary. "Hello, Harry. Are you ready to go?" Harry looked at the others and found the small part of Voldemort's soul that once belonged to him. He wrapped the creature in his jacket and picked it up. He nodded at Tom and he, along with the rest, got on the final train.
Back in the real world, Voldemort chose to carry Harry's body himself. He announced Harry's death, but instead of fighting more, he left and told his followers to do the rest. Out of a last bit of mercy for Harry, Voldemort buried him on Godric hollow, right beside his parents.
On his grave was written 'Harry James Potter. A great and strong wizard, but a child who should have never been forced to be a hero.
Wow.. beautiful. It's crazy how my weird dream inspired THIS! Thank you π
