Contribute to an embroidered narrative of the Eating Disordered experience in order to raise awareness and foster better understanding in the community.
QUT Ethics Approval Number 1500000523
The purpose of this PhD Visual Arts research is to create a patchwork quilt through voluntarily submitted personal stories addressing the experience of having an eating disorder. These stories may take the form of an anonymous submission to thepatchworkproject.net, or a physical embroidered submission through the postal system. The quilt will enable the researcher to better understand how craftivism β craft and activism used together for social purpose β can help tell a story, and create a new conversation by inviting people from within the communities to share, and also through examining the processes used.
The resultant quilt will be exhibited alongside another project which responds to the content within your submissions. Furthermore, submissions will be published on this blog, and linked from the facebook page.
This project is open for female identified participants whose lives have been affected by an eating disorder or disordered eating behaviours.
