Delainey Hayles was top tier all season honestly.
Claudia disliking/hating Louis was obvious since the first season. A few different times in season 1 where it was noticeable, was when Louis told her she was still breathing when he found her. She asked him why he didn't just take her to the hospital. And how she could have had a normal life, get married and have babies. Another was when Lestat told the story of his vampire birth, and Louis was lapping back up Lestat, wanting to just forgive him after the drop. Claudia was not having it and told him to his face, how weak he was for Lestat. Then of course when they killed Lestat and she told Louis it was time to burn the body; Louis grabbed her by her neck and stopped her. We don't even know how he convinced her to put Lestat in the trash. Him picking Lestat over her.
Remember Claudia did not choose to be a vampire. Especially being stuck as a 14-year-old girl, like Armand told Louis her mind ages but her body doesn't. She was suffering for a long time, feeling like a grown woman in a child's body. Louis fucked up with Alderman by displaying the dead body with the sign, and that how the riot happened, which led to the house fire Claudia was burning in. He asked for her to be turned to ease his own guilt and used her as a replacement for his own sister, we ever saw Claudia's reaction to Grace burying Louis, and him crying over his blood family.
Yes, she loved Louis and Lestat in the early years when she was okay with just being a kid. But after Charlie's death, nothing was the same, and she truly felt like she was a Band-Aid for their marriage, also very alone. Lestat loved Louis over her, Lestat would never turn on Louis, no matter what he would always pick Louis over everyone. Louis, well Claudia can get in his head, he's not her maker, and he never fed on human, so it made him a much easier target.
Personally Delainey Hayles, always had a great understanding of the character Claudia, especially when it comes to her relationship with Louis verses Lestat. She did love Louis more, she was closer to Louis, but it was easier to hate him and blame him, that hate grew more when Armand comes into the picture, and Louis chooses to believe that Armand couldn't possibly lay a hand on her when she told him Armand threaten her, something she didn't lie about because Armand never disputed that fact to Louis during the interview.
Anyways Claudia is alone in purgatory and Louis is planning a future with Lestat.
Justice for Claudia and Madeleine.
