Let's talk about the scene where they separate. Because I feel like a lot happens at once here and there are so many emotions.
So Sandokan, poor thing, just found out his parents were killed by the father of the woman that his is desperately in love with. And I am sure he did not expect himself to be in that situation. On first watch it kind of seemed like Sandokan had sent her away to appease the natives. But when I paid more attention, you get something different. When Marianne asks him what was wrong, why he was ignoring her, what is the first thing he says? That she should have gone home by now. He hesitates to tell her about her father until she keeps pressing. He doesn't hold against Marianne what happened to his parents, but he does feel guilty he dragged her into this, put her in a situation where she would have to choose. You see Sandokan knew that when everyone else had left him, Marianne was still there. Yanez walked away, she didn't. Sandokan knew that if he lied, she would hate him. He also knew that she would stay beside him to her detriment. So, what does he do? He tells her to ask her father. He beckons her to find out the truth. And once again he never forces her to do anything. Choose anything.
Then Marianne, after having the rug pulled out from under her (just look at her face when Brooke appears) is just froze. The man she loves just told her something she is having a hard time accepting, and he basically told her to go. Now I also think that Sandokan told her to go for her own safety. Brooke made a comment that Sandokan was not aware the Sultan was in hiding and posed a threat to Marianne, but I think Sandokan knew. And he wanted to keep her safe. Poor Marianne though had not fully taken one foot out her father's world. She is straddling both, and so, she caves and goes with Brooke.
It is a sticky situation, but Sandokan did the right thing by not lying to her. And Marianne made the only choice she could have with what had just been dropped in her lap.
Because let's be truthful, Marianne would have never left his side had it been any other way. But she had her own journey, and then she SHOWS Sandokan that she is by his side, forever.
I love how much he loves her hair.
It is a defining feature and it is everywhere, so he can't not touch it when he kisses her. But him tangling and bunching it up is my favorite!
To think he threatened to chop it off. Him saying it would only get her into trouble was definitely him projecting his own subconscious onto the situation. Because we know when he gets the chance to look and touch, he does so repeatedly.
Daemon shushing his dragon is almost as good as calling Aegon a drunken usurper cunt of a king.
Me giving the side eye when I see so many people watching Sandokan and being into the weirdo drug addict Brooks... his thing with Marianne never came off as romantic to me.

The irony of loving all the Fushigi Yugi storylines is that when you consider all three (one not even complete as a manga), Tamahome and Miaka's love story is the one that I wouldn't mind ending in tragedy while either of the other two get the happier ending (even in those down the line have some eventual afterlife happiness).
You two hug it out for her too?

Not going to lie, I would have found Daeron being a red head for real way more interesting than their dying it to hide him. It would have enhanced Alicent's vindictiveness towards Rhaenyra and her sons, and how she was constantly harassing everyone that would listen about them not being blonde. There is always so much hypocrisy from the Greens that I thought it would've opened up some interesting talking points had they made him genuinely not be a blonde.
Alicent: Will you blame me only for what men have done?
Me: Bitch be so fucking for real right now. I can legitimately say your sons being little shits is in direct response to you more than literally anyone else. You have been nothing but petty and vindictive since the moment you found out Nyra slept with someone of her own volition because you were too morally superior and ok with letting men run your life...only for you to go and do the same thing (with the same man, might I add. And I can only assume you were probably doing while you were married). Your father might have been the main person getting the flame going, but you were the person fanning them the most.

People losing their shit over the fact that a new book is published and it comes out in hard cover first... signs of newbie readers. It's great that more and more people are reading for fun, but seriously, stop complaining and acting like it is some huge travesty.
Look, I am sorry that you started reading a series once half of it was available in paperback. But literally all of those books came out in hardcover first. You having gotten them in paperback well after their first release isn't going to magically change the fact that a lot of books (not all) typically come out in hardcover first in traditional publishing.
Changing the style of the covers and overall size, sure be annoyed at that, but the whole paperback vs. hardcover issue needs to be dropped. Either get that damn hardcover, use the library, or wait for the paperback because this isn't new.
I am seriously becoming annoyed at the amount of people that I am seeing raging about this.
Rhaenyra & Daemon
House of the Dragon 3.03 - "Rhaenyra Triumphant"
You will have an empire unassailable. And our children will rule it forever and a day. β HOUSE OF THE DRAGON, 3.03 "Rhaenyra Triumphant"
HOUSE OF THE DRAGON 3.03 "Rhaenyra Triumphant"
Why the fuck does Ser Lorent listen to little princeling Jace and not to Rhaenyra THE HEIR TO THE THRONE? THE QUEEN OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS?!
That was so illogical...
Jace=male
Rhaenyra= woman
I am afraid it is indeed that simple.

"The boys who clung to me, who hid their little faces in my skirts... dead, so that I may sit upon a throne of swords?"
House Of The Dragon Emma D'arcy as Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen
Daemon handing Rhaenyra the sword to pass judgement on Otto herself was so important to me for his character. That man would want nothing more than to kill Otto himself because he hates him that much, but instead he gave it to Rhaenyra because it was important for her to show everyone that she was willing to set the example for those that question her reign.
