why do people think saying “this is satire” makes extremely offensive things ok? the POINT of satire is to MAKE A POINT that is WORTH YOUR WHILE. it is supposed to bring attention to an issue. it is supposed to open the readers/listeners eyes and ears and make them understand an issue. that is literally the basis of satire. it is supposed to have meaning. you can’t write a song about r*ping and murdering a celebrity for fun and call it satire. it can’t be satire if there isn’t an explicit reason for it besides being stupid and wanting to be extremely offensive for the lolz. it isn’t satire. it just isn’t. please take any high school level English class.
