Dragonfruit is such a strange looking fruit isn't it? I love the striking colors and wild shapes. I guess it does kinda look like a dragon head doesn't it?I'm really excited about this new sketchbook! It is really thick paper and has a great tooth to it. The paper is really substantial. Another suggested painting! Actually it was Vanessa who suggested it... she even was the one who procured the candy! I really had a lot of fun painting the different colors that reflect into the crumpled foil.

I never realized that the two middle "s"s are backwards until I painted them! This is why you paint from life, folks. It's so that you really observe and understand the world better 😆

I did this one for Heather Martin's #paintshoeschallenge. I thought that it would be fun to paint my girlfriend's shoes as she wears them, instead of making it a still-life. This is more like a zoomed-in clothed figure study!
