The Tiny Kingdom

I have seen some people say there’s a lot of pro AI and surveillance state propaganda in this newest movie. I didn’t really notice it initially while watching, but the more it’s been discussed (paired with a lot of people I know in real life starting to discuss FLOCK cameras and similar tech) the more I’m seeing it and kind of agree. Part of me wants to think of it as cutesy little superhero movie stuff, but I know better than that and I do sadly think it’s much bigger than that. I hate to admit it, but it’s just the world we live in these days. A lot of propaganda is fed to us in covert ways to normalize certain ideas or actions before the public as a whole really has time to sit and think about how wrong something is or how it can be misused 🦎

I don’t think it was bad, but I had higher hopes for it. I think it felt more like a hard launch for a different Marvel franchise (I’m not listing which specifically to avoid spoilers for others, but if you saw the movie, you know what I’m talking about) than it felt like a complete, cohesive Spiderman movie. Maybe that’s just me? I will say, I loved Spiderman and Punisher together on screen and I was really apprehensive about those two characters interacting together based on previous movies/shows. They really worked together for me and I wasn’t expecting it, so that was a nice surprise. 🦎

Anyway…back on topic! You’re always free to have your own opinion here. There are times when the age gap kind of makes me side eye, but what makes me feel better is knowing that going younger wasn’t ever a pattern for Chris like it is with other Hollywood men like Jake Gyllenhaal or Leo DiCaprio. Did Chris choose someone younger intentionally or because he just found the right person at the right time? That’s something only he can answer and the people closest to him will have true insight on. We can all speculate and share opinions, but none of us really know for sure 🦎
