Like imagine her and Peeta training two kids, knowing they’re being sent to their death and then watching them ultimately die despite all the effort they put in to save them.

I love the marauders as much as the next person, but when people say “oh this other person is just like James” I feel like we’ve lost the meaning of the creation of the marauders. We created James and the other marauders personalities based upon other characters and projection, not the other way around.

These characters are a reflection of what we wish they could’ve been, the whole point is that they wouldn’t exist without the fans. So we should stop denying ourselves credit and take pride in the fact that these characters are fan made based on other characters and ourselves. By saying other characters in other media are James-coded or Sirius-coded, just implies that they were originally intended to be that way, which gives all the credit to the bigot for an author who doesn’t deserve it.

Also, the marauders fandom and a good majority of the Harry Potter fandom are very sexist. They put all of the mlm ships on a pedestal but god forbid someone wants to ship a straight couple with their fave or someone wants to put the focus on the girls or a wlw ship.

Which brings up a larger problem altogether. mlm ships are hyper fetishized to the point that it is the only content getting pushed out. This leaves wlw to suffer loss after loss of representation unless it is in the background, being overshadowed by a mlm ship.

And as for the thing with Tatum, she never acted out of character. She says from the very beginning that she thinks school functions are lame and it is very doubtful that that will ever change. She was introduced as a doppelgänger for Leighton and she remains as such. BUT she is a doppelgänger of early season 1 Leighton. She is the Leighton who wanted to room with anyone other than the main 4. She is the Leighton that acted like a snob and thought everyone not “on her level” was lame. So it was not out of character for her to be a bitch at the women’s center fundraiser. Early season 1 Leighton would’ve acted the SAME WAY. Yes, Tatum was sweet when getting dinner with the dads, but early season 1 Leighton was sweet too, as seen by her offering to pay for Kimberly and her mother without telling anyone. However, Leighton has undergone so much transformation that now she isn’t the same judgmental bitch she once was. But Tatum is at her core because she is a callback to early Leighton.

It just makes me uncomfortable when people treat her like a baby when she’s actually a badass capable of more than people give her credit for. Maybe she isn’t as well developed and still has a ways to go before she catches up, but she isn’t a baby.

People always come for Mike and say he treats her like a pet that needs constant surveillance and while I agree that he does that, I think the fandom does the same a lot of the time.

I know a lot of people are concerned about being queer baited when vol. 2 comes out, but I’m thinking that won’t be the case (hopefully).

The season opens with Will obviously showing interest in someone, as said by Eleven, and that still has to be resolved. This, to me, opens up a natural progression into a conversation about Will and his sexuality.

The season also opens with Robin stressing over her crush on Vickie and clearly shows her struggle with the fact that if she tells the wrong people about her sexuality, she becomes a “pariah.” There have also been multiple instances in which her relationship to Steve has been called into question by different characters, Dustin and Nancy. In both instances, Robin and Steve give unsatisfactory answers which leave the other characters with more curiosity.

So, my theory is that we are going to get two coming out scenes (maybe interwoven together). Will is going to be confronted with the opportunity to finally share his sexuality with at least the Cali crew and I think at the same time Robin is going to come out to the Hawkins crew, or at least Steve (who of course alreadyknows), Eddie and Nancy.

These will be two separate build ups though. I think Will’s will be much more dramatic and emotional because he has been pushed to the side a lot as of late and may feel like no one cares about the true him. I think Robin’s, on the other hand, will be out of exasperation. Someone is going to keep harping on the her dating Steve issue and she is going to crack. She will just keep rambling until she’s like “I don’t like Steve. I like women, but I can’t just tell people that.” Then she’ll freak out but be met with a group of friends that loves her for who she is, finally.

I hope to whatever god there is that I am right because we at least need a proper coming out scene from Robin to the Hawkins crew. And they’ve already hinted at and come so close to her coming out to Nancy multiple times that at this point it has to be intentional.
