I decided I'm going to slowly start working on my Elumax sequel fic after abandoning it for, like, years. The focus is mainly Elmax, but there will be cute Lumax moments, along with a lot of platonic Madwheeler and some background Byler!

ok so, Jane in this AU is OBVIOUSLY like Anne. they just parallel each other so well!! both of them growing up orphans, traumatized, abused, then coming to Avonlea/Hawkins and not fitting in immediately because they've never been in society before but ultimately finding family and love and kindred spirits. and obviously they're both head-in-the-clouds dreamers whose lives are full of finding whimsy and joy in everything, even the mundane things

My girl Maxine is totally Diana here!!! idk i just see a lot of similarities between Diana/Anne and Jane/max's relationships with each other. Being each other's first kindred spirits, first bosom friends, and in this au, maybe... something more??? and i imagine that aunt josephine here is an aged up robin that's related to max in this AU!! ooh, or maybe she's vickie cause they're both redheads.... and gertrude/her equivalent here doesn't die so early in this fic, she gets to meet our girls and boys

for the boys, i have a few different ideas. 1. will=cole, mike=gilbert, lucas= similar to jerry. like, will is so similar to cole it's crazy. and the willel kindred spiritism is just too perfect. think of will doing jane's hair, of jane/max/will hangouts, of will going to live w robin!!! but will does have an awesome family so im kinda on the fence about that. anyways, the other two: i do really ship gilbert/anne in the show but obviously here mike/jane are just gonna be friends, or maybe they have a similar v.short fling where they start dating just cause everyone's like "omg he/she likes you so much!" but that ends soon. and i think gilbert/cole romantically in awae would be cute together too and byler coded <333. lucas im honestly not sure about as jerry. i mean, i think jerry/diana are lumax coded in certain ways. but like, i feel like the similarities end there, apart from the fact that i think lucas and jerry have totally similar personalities. tbh i could even see byclair in this au

2. lucas= gilbert. i could see this as starting with romantic lucas/jane at the same time as romantic jane/max, then them becoming a poly-thing with el dating both, and THEN lumax get together too so it becomes a full throuple. mike could be jerry here, i can totally see it with mike having a huge family like jerry. and will is still cole obv.

3. i could see lucas and mike in a gilbert and bash dynamic. but obv lucas here is a teenager and not a grown man who gets married and has a kid. im not doing any creepy pedo shit here

4. another option cause who said we have to adhere to the regular genders of everyone here: MIKE as diana and will as jerry. diana's fam is so wheeler family coded. will in this specific situation is a confident lil shit who is flirts with rich boy mike and gets him adorably flustered ALL THE TIME. ok tbh i see diana/jerry as WAYYY more byler coded than lumax coded. and imagine all the cute scenes with diana as mike and holly as minnie may!!! im not too sure where the other characters fit in here though
