is renowned for her intricately painted pottery. Each piece is coil-built and then finely painted using a yucca brush. The lines are painted horizontally, then vertically, and then she fills in the squares to create the designs.

I just finished single 1 of 6 for the Fire&Ice yarn!

Maybe I'm just spoiled because the stuff I used for the sweater spin has the single best commercial fiber prep I've ever seen (which is precisely why I used it!), but this stuff is kind of a pain in comparison. Typical slightly crunchy dyed Merino, a bit compacted, plenty of second cuts, enough random noils to be annoying. On the upside, the colors make this spin so, so exciting and engaging.

I'm doing some color management here, splitting off parts that cooperate for bolder single-color pops, but I'm very deliberately letting a bunch of this mix pretty freely too, because otherwise what's the point in spinning dyed fiber, ya feel.
