The art was atrocious. Not only did every character look like ass, but worse, this artist could not tell a story in comic book format to save his life. Half of the time I was struggling to understand what is going on.

It really sucks because the writing for James sounded fun, but it was hidden under this shit art. Like this guy could only draw one expression, the classic superhero squinty eye frown. You cannot be drawing a character like James Jesse with the dumbass superhero frown.

Also everybody had the same exact superhero body type as well. James isn't a physical character. Why the fuck was this guy drawing him like that??? What's wrong with his legs and feet??? Ew ew ew ew ewewewewewew. I'm about to vomit.

I'm honestly so mad. We hadn't had a James issue in three years and this is what you give me???? This???? I would have loved to see this issue drawn my someone who can actually draw. There were many James moments that could have been really fun had they been drawn halfway decently. Like honestly this looked like a goddamn Marvel comic (derogatory).

Also why didn't James use his air shoes in this issue? I mean, yeah, he didn't have them on in that weird outfit, but like, why? And even when he had them he wasn't using them? Weird. That part didn't feel very James to me.

So do you think he made the note in MS Paint and just printed it out or do you think he wrote in the Chiller font by hand?

I think the only way to learn to draw realistic faces is to draw real faces of real people.

Back in the day when I wanted to make my own realistic versions of my faves, but wasn't that great at realism, I would find people who looked like my faves. Like for example I was watching some British documentary called "Mini" from 1975 and this random guy had the exact nose that Silver Age Riddler has, so I used him as a reference when working on my own design of Riddler.
