Hi could you write about chrismd and reader where theyâre doing the three peaks video (if youâve watched it then youâll understand this next part) chris picks reader to have a mental health chat with for the video and they sort of trail off and turn off the cameras and it gets to the point where sheâs like upset and feels like a failure bc sheâs struggling so much with the challenge and heâs just there to reassure her
or could you write about/add onto previous idea
when theyâre driving to the next peak chris and reader get put in the very back of the car (theyâre in them cars that have extra seats in the boot) bc theyâre the shortest and they fall asleep tg with her head on his shoulder and itâs just all cutesy and when they get to a service station chris wakes her up in the most gentle way possible
sorry for the long request aha x
The Quiet Part of the Journey - Chris MD
I wonât lie, havenât got round to this video, I watched the one with the FFW briefly but not the rest. So I kinda guessed. I hope this is okay x needed to update so this was amazing for me
The wind had picked up again by the time Chris set the camera down.
Chris had decided a good video would be the three peaks and due to you enjoying hiking he had asked you to join in.
A part of the video he thought was interesting and intimate for the viewers was to have a mental health check in.
Once he had set the camera down he called you over and started the recording.
âIâve decided youâre the perfect person for the mental health check inâ.
âLucky meâ you half joked, before joining Chris by the camera.
âSoâ he started, softly. âHow are you actually doing?â
âIâm doing fine, bit out breath but otherwise goodâ
âCome on Y/N, how do you really feel?â
âChris can we turn this off?â You eyed the camera, instantly uncomfortable opening up on screen.
âYeah of courseâ he said quickly. Already reaching over to turn the camera off.
You both didnât speak for a moment, the wind filling the silence.
âI think Iâm slowing everyone down,â you said finally, voice smaller than you meant it to be. âLike properly slowing them downâ
He shook his head immediately. âThatâs not true.â
âIt is,â you insisted, frustration spilling over now. âIâm exhausted and weâre only on the second one. Everyone else is just getting on with it and Iâmâ you stopped, swallowing hard. âIâm struggling this much already. Itâs a joke.â
âItâs not a joke,â he said, more firmly this time.
You let out a shaky breath, blinking too fast. âIt kind of is. I said I could do this. I wanted to do this. And now Iâm here thinking I might not even make it through all three. Thatâs. thatâs embarrassing.â
Chris shifted closer, resting his arms on his knees. âHey. Look at me.â
You didnât want to, but you did.
âYouâre not failing,â he said. âYouâre doing something really hard, and youâre tired. Thatâs it.â
âI just didnât think it would hit me like this,â you admitted. âItâs not even just the walking. Itâs like everything at once.â
Chris nodded slowly, like he understood exactly what you meant even if you hadnât fully explained it.
âYeah,â he said. âThat happens. Especially with stuff like this. Youâre tired, youâre exposed, youâve got time to think it all kind of piles on.â
You laughed weakly. âGreat. Love that for me.â
âYou donât have to prove anything here,â he added after a moment. âNot to me, not to the others, not to the viewers . If you need to slow down, we slow down. If you need a break, we take a break.â
âI donât want to ruin it for everyone,â you
âYou wonât,â he replied. âAnd even if we end up going slower, thatâs still better than you pushing yourself to the point where you feel awful the whole time.â
You looked down at your boots, scuffed and muddy from the climb. âI just hate feeling like this.â
âYeah,â he said softly. âI know.â
For a second, it seemed like you might cry.
âSorry,â you said.
âDonât apologise,â he said immediately. âSeriously. This is exactly what the check-in was for.â
You glanced over at where the camera sat.
âAre we gonna turn that back on?â you asked.
Chris followed your gaze, then looked back at you. âOnly if you want to.â
âGive me a minute,â you said.
He nodded. âTake all the time you need.â
