The last of Tays

And the past few months I’ve been itching to do something a little different.

I’ve been wanting to write a full, novel-length Javier Peña fic not just a spicy one-shot, but the kind of story I always end up telling, soft, romantic, messy, dramatic, slow-burny, a little painful in the best way. Less smut, more heart and angst and healing.

I know there are tons of Javi one-shots or short fics, but not many that are really character-driven romances (that I've found 😭). And I keep wondering…would anyone actually want to read that?

I write for myself first, always but I also love when people connect with my stories, when someone messages me saying a chapter hit them in the chest. That’s the best part.

So idk…should I post it? Should I dive into my Peña era?

I still get messages, comments, and questions almost daily about Somewhere to Land, which honestly means more to me than I can explain. I’m really glad that story stuck with so many of you.

I know the ending wasn’t everyone’s favorite 😅 but it was intentional. It ended where it needed to.

That said I’ve been thinking.

How would y’all feel about a second part to the series?

Not another massive 497k word monster, but a shorter 10–15 chapter companion called The Journey Along the Way. It would pick up right where we left off with Jackson’s birth and focus on the life in between, the years, the love, the struggles, the quiet moments between life and death.

I’ve got a lot of projects I’m working on right now, so if this happens it wouldn’t be immediate. I just wanted to see if the desire is there before I let my brain run wild 👀
