Since Vegapunk is One Piece's version of Einstein, do you supposed he's the one who explained One Piece's version of physics?

OK maybe this is dumb, but I kind of love that Helmeppo had to come to his introspection late. Like, plenty of characters in One Piecee have things about themselves that they dwell on, but most of the time they’re things that have been with those characters for a long time – almost always before we saw them, at the very least. And then Oda gives us Helmeppo, who at twenty goddamn years old is living a life he never bothers questioning. He doesn’t have to. He gets everything he wants, he gets no pushback no matter how much of an asshole he is, he basically doesn’t have to think about anything. He doesn’t have any skills or dreams or goals. He just exists, from whim to whim, and he’s -awful-. Just awful. And then his dad asks if he murdered a little girl. He calls him worthless and acts disappointed at his son for not doing a murder of a little girl whose only crime is trying to be nice. And that’s basically the start of him losing everything he’s built his life around. And then he has to figure it all out. He has to figure out what he wants, what his life should be. And while he sucks at it at first, he actually does really commit to it. And what he accomplishes at that point is impressive. It’s overshadowed by the fact that Coby went further in the same time, but Coby is an absolute beast. Helmeppo’s surge through the ranks, his growth as a combatant, his growth as a person, they’re all really impressive – and moreso because he started at age 20 as a truly stunted person in a lot of ways. He was starting from zero, and he managed to really make a go of it. I dunno, maybe I just like his character because sometimes it’s nice to have a reminder that no one moment is you. Even if that moment lasts years.
