i really think people do not give themselves nearly enough credit for what they can achieve. you know literally anyone is capable of learning new languages or researching their interests. when you see someone else doing that you shouldn't put them on a pedestal or feel disheartened cos you didn't do it yet, you should feel inspired to expand your own knowledge! like i understand we have different limiting factors that can make it more or less difficult to do so, but we can all do it. if you want to know more about something you can hit google scholar or anna's archive or jstor or the library... like i promise you can learn about anything if you want! you don't even have to go to a university to do it! it's really good to be curious and to follow that curiosity and learn more!

you know i understand the drive to create rules for everything but i think the more you over-legislate and define the human experience the more you dehumanise the people who live under those laws. i think guidelines like "you can't discriminate based on race/class/caste/gender/sex/ability/etc" is great, i think when you start to legally define, in hyper specific terms, "what is a family?" or "what is a business?" you start to have problems...
