I finished it a few days ago, but I just now took the time to promote this second commissioned work.
After the commission from @Lucas-Stl, this was one of the commissions I enjoyed doing the most, and @thekeerok was kind enough to give me a few extra days to develop his commission because I was dealing with some complicated personal issues.
By the way, I remind you that you can request your own 3D model made by me through the following links. In the next post, I will include other links so you can request your 3D model at half price for a limited time, so don't miss out:

Had a lot of fun making the PV for this one :> Used the MIDI this time cause it just felt so right. Works well together with the Movie Maker aesthetic :D

Planning to do Tokio Hotel in UTAU ...
3d model of my guy (NATE) :D Courtesy of @dreamloft3d ! Thanks for doing such a great job on him c: Made with Blender, some adjustments with Procreate to nail that PS1 style aesthetic :>
Strawb, in your opinion, which is harder to use? Utau or Vocaloid?
While both are difficult, Utau is more so. Vocaloid has a few more shortcuts in how to do something. Though it also depends on what Vocaloid program you're using. Like say you're using Vocaloid 1, then I'd probably say Utau is easier. If you use Piapro Studio or Vocaloid 4 like I do, Utau is definitely harder.
Imma interject to give my opinion too.
Truthfully, whichever program you end up using the most is going to be the easiest mainly due to the fact that navigating it eventually becomes muscle memory.
For me, Vocaloid 1 is easiest because I tend to use it more than Utau or Vocaloid 4. I've learned the basics and I know how to navigate the pop-out window that allows you to add various vibrato and note annunciation.
This is a feature that is very much still there in newer iterations of Vocaloid and (I assume) Piapro Studio, but its formatted different. I can't say what it looks like in Piapro, but below is how it looks in Vocaloid 4. In order to open the window and interchange the type of vibrato and attack on the notes, you have to double-click the line underneath the note whereas in Vocaloid 1 its a window you can have appear and stay on screen via the "view" tab up top. With this version all you have to do is drag and drop, which I prefer.
The second hardest for me would be Vocaloid 4. It's similar enough to Vocaloid 1 that I can get by with it, kind of adjust things minimally like gender factor and other parameters, as well as moving the notes up and down in order to get them to the proper key or range (or at least what I hope is correct) for my covers.
Now... Utau is the hard one for me.
Utau is formatted very different to both of these aforementioned programs. It automatically comes with a voicebank by default, Uta Utane (aka Defoko), but... if you're a first-time user with little to no understanding on how voicebanks in Utau work, you won't know that she isn't romaji-aliased, meaning she isn't able to sing a romaji-based UST. So while Vocaloid can read romaji (a, i, u, e, o, cha, chi, etc), not all Utau voicebanks can. Most are hiragana only, so you have to put the hiragana versions of those romaji sounds instead, otherwise in this case Defoko will NOT make a single sound. It'll read the notes and act like it's playing them, but there will be no sound. In order to make an Utau recognize romaji, it has to be aliased for it... so there's already one hurdle going in to using the program.
For Utau, I BARELY am able to really navigate the program. I can add vibrato via the "Tools" dropdown...
As well as sometimes fiddle with this plugin that is downloaded, not built in to the program, that lets you change a CV version of a UST to that of a VCV, or vice-versa... and again, CV and VCV would be ANOTHER hurdle for a first-time user that may not know what those are.
BUT SOMETIMES... this plugin doesn't always work well, so my work around would be to use the website UtaFormatix to change it to the type of UST needed, or if I want to have Kaito V1 or Meiko V1 sing a specific song that doesn't have a VSQx but has a UST, then I can also use UtaFormatix to convert the UST into a MID file for the Vocaloid 1 engine to recognize and go from there.
So truthfully, it just comes down to which program you use the most. I've used Vocaloid 1 more than Utau or Vocaloid 4, so it's the easiest for me to navigate. I've gotten better at understanding how it works and EVENTUALLY will get around to trying to mess with parameters and tune things myself... I'm jsut not ready for it yet. ;v;
I have ever really only used OpenUTAU much, I have installed and tried UTAU but in my opinion it feels dated. I have heard it has some advantages, like some really cool plugins, but I haven't really missed anything in my time working with OpenUTAU. It also works on every operating system/doesn't need you to change your locale to Japanese to install it. In my opinion, OpenUTAU is very usable/user-friendly, feeling like a sleak, modern program. You can drag stuff around, create multiple tracks, easily change phonemizers (= easier to use other languages than japanese), resamplers and it even has a help screen you can turn on in the piano roll (which might be on when you use it first time?). I can definitely whole heartedly recommend it if you want to get into vocal synths. What exactly was your problem with importing/using a voice?
First you gotta download a singer (I can recommend Hitsune Kumi here), and install it Then you press select singer on one of the tracks (click the plus to create more tracks, if needed, you can also import midi/.ust files from original utau)
Depending on what kind of bank it is, it will even automatically use the right phonemizer (for example here, I use the English and Japanese bank for Kumi)
Then you press into the empty part on the right to create a new part, and double click it to get into the piano roll, where you can place your notes using the pen tool on the top.
and you are done! your voicebank sings :D I hope this helps! (I was already quite tired writing it)

new utau rock song!!
using Hitsune Kumi ~ DiffSinger! This was quite the undertaking! I spent hours on hours mixing (taking breaks as my ear got somewhat deaf to the nuances) I was inspired by early 2000s rock :>
Another unfinished drawing of this sad bug for the road... Godspeed, soldier.
