There's a shock of yellow as Ilya looks out of the cottage windows for the first time that summer.
"Sunflowers?" He asks Shane, rushing outside to see them, voice thick with emotion.
"Yeah, you said they were your mom's favorite, right? I just thought it might be nice to have them around when you're talking to her."
"They're perfect."
He kisses Shane and looks over at the bright patch of flowers. They're all pointed to the sun, and he wonders, not for the first time, if his Mama had a hand in nudging them together.
He thanks her silently anyway.

I was so fortunate this morning when I was leaving my office building and saw this lovely Polyphemus moth on the wall outside!!! ^_^<3<3<3 The little guy is just so flipping cute and fluffy that it made me want to pet/hold him so bad, but I managed to restrain myself. ;) I'm just glad he let me take a picture of him and hopefully he'll hang around for a while, but I understand if he's got to fly off to find a mate/somewhere with less people traffic. ;)
