Just a few hours ago Tessa had the misfortune of meeting yet another one of the pitiful suitors Louisa and James arranged for her, "the quicker they found someone who is willing to bear with her, the better" they would say, a pretty stupid statement if you asked J, or any other of Tessa's close servants. Tessa shouldn't have someone who just "accepted" her, she should have someone who actually saw her for who she was, someone who would take care of her and cherish her as she deserved, not settled for mediocre at best lackluster excuse of a man who only saw an easy way to climb the social ladder. Unbelievable.

J could only squirm under the intense emerald gaze she was being subjected to. She wouldn't say it out loud, but at moments like these, where serenity surrounded them and no one but themselves were witnesses to what they were up to, she felt loved, no words required. Words were ephemeral and hardly reliable anyways. J could feel her face plate gradually becoming warmer, glowing with pure white light of simulated blush.

"Uh, am, I-", eloquently stuttered, if the rest of the staff were to see the head maid acting like this she would never hear the end of it, she was laughable! Tessa just further smiled with her eyes, taking in the appealing and rare view before her. "Yes, girl?", pressing their bodies closer, the shuffling briefly cutting through the otherwise absolute silence. J's blush became even more evident as she felt one of Tessa's legs shyly finding its place between hers, her foot playfully moving along the drone's. She vaguely wondered if her metal limbs weren't cold to the touch for the human, or maybe the overheating she was going through was enough to override that, who knows.

J only stared at her face in awe. And soon enough that breathtaking visage just continued to creep closer, lips dangerously and alluringly close to hers.

J is greedy.

And because J perfectly knows this fact about herself she moves her face away from Tessa's, opting instead for burying her face plate into the brunette's shoulder, breathing into her scent. J knew she couldn't settle for less than everything. Give her an inch and she will take ten miles. This was the thing she can't indulge if she doesn't want the imminent pain to catch up with them. Yes, this was for the greater good of the two of them. Yes.

Tessa, seemingly perceiving something was up with J while also completely trusting in her, pressed her lips where her audio receptors were, wishing her a good rest.

The words muttered earlier by Tessa should have made her happy, ecstatic even. She knew Tessa well enough to know she meant those words with her soul– she wouldn't deceive her like that, never. The problem was something else. She had the confirmation of something she both yearned and feared.

It wasn't her status as a woman, nor her being her servant what theoretically was stopping them, no, but the only thing she couldn't change, her condition as a man-made being. Destined to be trapped in her personal prison of metal and wires, feeling like a human yet still being doomed to eternal life if someone else much fancied it. She despises how even if they were to run away to the farthest point of earth there would be no place where her shiny, chromatic excuse of skin wouldn't attract unwanted eyes, unwanted words.

What she wanted more than anything in her entire existence was so close, yet still so far away.

It was a short scene but I think it's a genuinely great and inspired concept???
