I. Clytemnestra’s steady breaths were all that interrupted the silence. One hand releases the axe only to push back a lock of hair from her face.

(It is worth a mention that her grip never went slack, there was no clattering of metal against stone, only her teeth bared in a victorious smile.)

II. Gods are fickle, they do as they please, to have one gravitate towards you is a dangerous thing. Their lust is equally as unforgiving as their wrath, what they desire is already theirs, there are no compromises.

(Enter Ares who witnessed the crime, dark eyes take in the scene before her, a tongue wetting her lips.)

III. “Come with me,” is an order disguised as an invitation. “Bring your axe,” is all it takes for Clytemnestra to follow.

(Once you taste blood, it is the only flavor your mouth will ever know.)

IV. Crimson is the color that decorates their clothing and is splashed against their skin. Their names leave the mouths of others in quivering whispers. (No one dares to look them in the eye, it is best not to lest you seek to challenge them.)

V. Violence takes two forms: one in a goddess and one in a woman. Destructive forces, blood-spillers, but hardly ever their own, certainly never Clytemnestra’s.
