Re:fugee:ca x (ILL)LEGAL is a migrant and refugee culture festival. Its main goal is to support our refugee and migrant neighbours and the organisations which help them through an event in which we all have the chance to experience the unique and worthwhile talents and abilities these new Berliners bring with them to our city. Thought of as a fundraiser and solidarity event, profits will be donated to refugee organisations and directly to refugee participants themselves. Lets support our new neighbours and celebrate the beauty of diversity! During the day there will be the Re:fugee:ca Bazaar, a market style set up with various stands in which refugee initiatives will present themselves, and refugees / migrants themselves will be selling self-made handicrafts and food, there will even be hair braiding and games! Perfect timing for your Christmas shopping! During the Bazaar there will also be short presentations and performances onstage all day long. In the evening we will present the (ILL)LEGAL Cabaret, in which refugees and migrants are invited to present their talents onstage and tell their story in their voice, through their own artistic output. A mix of individual performers and established groups will be presented onstage; theater, music, dance, rap, even short film, anything goes in the cabaret! After the event costs are covered, the money from the ticket sales will go to refugee organisations chosen by our refugee participants. All of the organisers, producers, participants, and even the venue are donating their time and energy to this project. With this campaign, we are trying to raise 1000€ to cover production costs and provide transportation, food, and payment for refugee/migrant participants. If all of our costs are met with this grant, we can donate all of the money from the entrance directly to the refugee organisations that need it! Help us make this event not only inspiring, connecting and empowering, but also a successful fundraiser!
