Anyways, something I love about the Mimic and the Charliebots because it asks question of "what if the people around you didn't view you as a person" with robots like classic sci-fi does all the time, but it doesn't address it on a societal level, and instead sticks to something as small scale as a family. What if the whole point of your existence was to be someone else's perfect memory of a person who's not you? What if your only worth came from what you could do for others? What if you're only loved for how well you can be someone else? What if your body and mind could be tweaked to someone else's perfect memory of someone who isn't you? What if that still wasn't enough and you were simply doomed from the start? What if you were utter dependent on another person to continue existing as you are? That life as you know it can fundamentally change as you know it based on the whim of someone else? For them to have complete ownership over you and to not only be dependent on their mercy but their love as well? That for anyone else to save you from abandonment and destruction at the hands of your creator, meant proving your humanity first? What if that just meant them replacing the same role in your life? What if god was a term interchangeable from husband or father to you?

"I'm still kicking" is such a funny way to say "I'm still alive". Like lol. I'm still thrashing. Flailing. Writhing even. The violence remains.
