Ok thing I love about Fiona Murray: she's business savy. Edwin mentions not having a name for a device and she gives him advice on the spot. Has him describe it in one word so that it'll be easy to market. The email chastising him about misspelling a word calls him 'Ed' and not 'Mr. Murray.' Someone clearly not afraid to lose their job and his response back is rather casual. Which very much has me believe Fiona was the one who sent that email.
She also very clearly aware of the danger of the lift breaking down and tries to lampshade it in a very "phone guy"-esque style. Except unlike phone guy, she's an executive. Highest position of power in the company besides Edwin himself. Very much torn between the good of the company and the good of the employee made worse by the fact her business partner is her husband. She vouches for the employees to Edwin, butttttt is also willing to brush past a few serious safety hazards along the way to keep business going. She can be a bit of a skeezy capitalist when she needs to be.
She gives him solid advice about needing to work on one project at a time, which we see the consequences of not following that later on with the customer complaint letters. And I bet that's not just sagely advice pulled out of the ether, but lessons she could've learned through or her own career. Fact that she quit puppeteering and took up a run-of-the-mill factory job makes me really wonder about her history but yeah
