Siempre pienso: a cuánta gente interesante me voy a cruzar hoy? Y a cuántas llegarĂ© a conocer?

It's hard to dance, with a devil on your back. So shake it off

House of the Rising Sun- Animals
Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning’s hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circling flight. I am the soft star-shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I did not die. -Mary Elizabeth Frye
VITAL SECOND OF THE WEEK
Today I was in class, and i was asked what my vital moment of the week was.
What is a vital moment of the week? It's that time where you feel alive, when you feel content, happy and plenty. It can be any moment when you feel proud of an act you did, or something you saw which filled your heart.
I was given the example of my professor: his vital moment was when he got the courage to speak to his boss and tell him that he thought he could be managing the work better. At that moment, he got a heavy load off of him and he felt plenty- he had a vital moment.
So I thought about this for a minute or two- i thought of my past week. Any vital moment? Nothing occurred to me. I could think the most vital moment of the year, where I was able to email my grandmother, who was very sick and far away from home, all that I thanked her, all she was to me. It took me two months to do this, since doing this was accepting that she was dying. She died two weeks later, and I couldn't feel happier that I got to say goodbye the best way possible.Â
Anyhow, this was a moment of plenitude I had a month ago. Now, i had to think of one i had over the past week. I realize that I haven't had any. I can't remember any for a long time. What does this mean? That i am "dead" in a way?
No, it doesn't mean that, but i do feel empty. Reflecting back on my daily life, i am doing nothing that makes me happy. I want to begin to live, to do things that fill my heart. Wether its doing what i like, or doing something for the community.Â
The vital second is that where you say hi to the security guard at your school, when you ask the janitor staff how they are feeling. When you see your dogs and play with them. WHen you get the courage to speak with someone you thought you weren't going to be able to. Whatever makes you feel alive, that is your vital second.
I've decided to start living. To start recording my vital second of the week, maybe there is more than one moment.
Will you start living?

It’s hard to communicate through words the power of dance. Part of why dance is so compelling and powerful stems from its intensive influence on people without the use of words. Movement is so pure, raw, and genuine. Dance can be a form of escape, a form of self-realization, a form of expression, a story, exercise, and so many other crucial things.
