      at first, ben was ashamed to admit it, the big climax of uma’s takeover brought him selfish relief knowing he no longer had to be the king with all the answers. however, it was short lived before guilt crept in and he knew he had to do something to help his citizens. he may no longer be king by title but he was still obligated to protect the people that had once believed in him.

that was hard to do when he was trapped in one of his own guest chambers. he was only allowed out on harry’s or uma’s whims. it was infuriating and the frustration only grew as one of the aforementioned pirates burst into his room. “good morning, harry.” he greeted the other but he could not muster up even a small smile for the pirate. the former king was worrying himself into exhaustion and it showed.

      perhaps the first mate was enjoying the victory just a touch much. could anyone really blame him, though?? nineteen years of being cooped up and trapped on an island with no where else to go. now he not only had freedom in the palm of his hands, but power as well. and oh, was it so completely thrilling to feel. sure, maybe in another life harry would have been grateful just for the opportunity to be free from the isle. another life he could have let go of all his rage and resentment against the heroes who had stood by and let king beast lock their parents away and stand by while children became prisoners as well. in another life, another world. that wasn’t this story.

walking around auradon was actually easier now than it had ever been before. everyone seemed to forget any grudges they had against the first four vks, it only mattered where your allegiances lied and a lot of being were being secretive about even that. truthfully, carlos had no idea who’s side he was one. he wanted the best for the pirates that had captured his heart but he worried everyday about ben and the royal family’s safety. too many thoughts and too little time, he caught himself spacing out until he literally ran into one of the very pirates that was always on his mind. “ shit — harry? ” seeing the other boy was a surprise, he had just left his hideout and was walking down the narrow path that led into town. harry knew about his hideout but he had not seen him or uma since the takeover happened.

“i stare in hopes that it might change magically.” he admitted with a soft sigh, pulling out a worn coat, his torn shirt and some leather pants. “a proper king needs proper attire, your majesty.” philippe turned to look at him, walking over and lying out the outfit gently on the bed at his feet. “at least get new clothing. all these are so dirty and worn out, mon cheri.” crystal hues looked over at him as he smoothed out the lace cravat on his own outfit. always looking his best. a nobleman in silks. 

he walked over to the side of the other, a small sigh leaving him as he leaned closely to him. “you have business as king. unfortunately, you don’t get the luxury of staying in bed without good reason.” he leaned down, patting his knee gently. “breakfast is ready for you in the dining hall.”

     snorting under his breath, he didn’t bother to hide the eye roll at the remark. prim and proper was hardly his thing and even if he was king now it wasn’t going to change. this was a new rule, he could do as he damn well pleased. “eh, i’ll pass on all o’ tha’ fancy bullshit. jus’ ain’t me. prefer all o’ me leather an’ the fun stuff.” if it wasn’t at least slightly ripped up, then it really didn’t have a right to be in his closet. “i like me clothes. ye know, all o’ that ‘ad tae be fought for. there’s a reason i keep it ‘round.”

she would be lying if she had said she didn’t like winter. after all, that was when it was laney’s mother’s birthday and despite the fact that they’d never really been close, she would never want to miss her mother’s birthday party. another small part of her was kind of glad that winter had been over because despite it being her family name, laney had never really been much of a fan of snow. she would rather die the old fashioned way than of frostbite. “you and me both, harry.” she replied with a small laugh. “i’m kinda glad winter’s finally over, i was freezing my ass off all winter.”

he was sore. fuck. he was so sore. the soreness had awoken him early than he needed. but it gave him a chance to write a report to the rebellion and sending it out in trusted hands before the royal couple could wake. he needed to find ben. he needed to find the royal parents. seeing as the sun peered through the lace curtains of his room, he stood from his chair. he’d need to visit his father again soon in the dungeon. he was just glad that his mother was able to swindle in becoming a maid again. 

he stepped out of his room through the secret door; and right into the king’s chambers. walking to the curtains, he threw them open; letting the light pour into the room. “it’s sunrise, your majesty. many on the agenda today.” he proclaimed loudly before heading to the bed and quickly tearing the blanket off him. “bonjour.” he simply said before he headed to the wardrobe and began to peer through it. ugh. all this pirate attire was ghastly…. oh how the other would look just dashing in silken clothes. gold– maybe a dashing of red. traditional french style.

     the moment light hit his face, the pirate let out a soft curse under his breath, trying his best to cover himself up to avoid being fully awaken. at least, that was the plan before the blanket was torn off of him. “fucking ‘ell,” he grumbled, eyes blinking as he began to push himself into a sitting position. the idea of having a personal butler had certainly been endearing at the time, but harry hadn’t realized just everything that had come along with it. not that he would, at least considering where he had grown up. this was still a lot to take in. 

( THOMAS DOHERTY, 19, HE/HIM )┊seems like HARRY HOOK has left the isle to come over to auradon. they are the child of CAPTAIN HOOK and have TWO SIBLINGS. i’ve heard they’re known to be LOYAL + UNPREDICTABLE. rumor has it they HAVE teamed up with the villains. maybe we should keep an eye on this one.

Ben had barely interacted with anyone since the Kingdom was overthrown. He had remained in the castle but for a while he felt it was more as a plaything for Harry that anything else, and although he was missing how things were looking for him and harry, he enjoyed it and yet this all happened. He was sat in the bedroom when  he heard footsteps outside the room.

Maddy approached the first mate carefully. Both he and Uma seemed so happy to finally have auradon under their control, but as the days passed, she only felt growing horror. Would Auradon be worth having when their parents were done with it? There had been so much blood when Harry killed someone. Maddy was beginning to realize how sheltered she had been by her grandmother. “I-I’m sorry.” She said finally, still not able to make eyecontact with Harry. “I was…I mean I was just thinking…you know, now that you guys got what you wanted…” She wrung her hands together, “Well I mean there’s really no more need for me, is there?” 

– ♔ Tossing the item to the floor carelessly Uma’s shoulders lift up into a shrug, “Riches don’t mean anything but social status.” Obviously something that the royals had taken FULL advantage of, over the years. Brow arches at the information though she isn’t all that surprised. Ben was almost as stubborn as some of the VKs were, one trait Uma had to admire. He set his mind to something? He wouldn’t budge. “Nope!” Clicking of tongue against roof of mouth as she’s exiting the room, gesturing for him to follow. “I — mmm.” chuckling under her breath, “I have something planned.”

    a statement he more than agreed on. coming to aurdon, he had been sickened at the sight of many of them flaunting their royal status and everything that came with it. they deserved what had come to them -- deserved to fall. their own ignorance and arrogance had led all of them to this very fate. curious, harry peered at uma curiously before he was following after her, a step behind as he attempted to keep up. “oh?? must be pretty damn good if ye ain’t gonna tell me or give me a hint.”

Ben listened to the other, and he eyes the male through the corner of his eyes for a minute without the male seeing him. He made a point, but Ben was brought up for this…. knowing responsiblity. “This didn’t have to happen… You all wanted it to happen…” He paused, “ Tell me honestly…. do you think I didn’t care about any of you… or that I wouldn’t try my best to do what was right for all of us… my reign freed you all… if it wasn’t for my dad giving me that reign it wouldn’t of happened…I wouldn’t have let you all out…or met you…” he trailed off for a moment. “Yes, because I know you aren’t judging… it’s just different… how am I suppose to show my face with everyone now..”

     okay, maybe they had wanted it to happen. this had been planned out well, pieces being placed on the board for nearly a year now. it had all been necessary even if harry didn’t expect ben to fully understand any of it. he’s silent as the other speaks, attempting to keep his expression neutral even at the or met you comment. “ye ‘ave a good heart, ben. an’ i know ye cared enough tae bring us all over. but yer never gonna understand our reasoning or why we wanted revenge. ye never ‘ad tae live like we did, never ‘ad tae suffer.” sighing softly, harry shifts closer once more, right hand reaching out to gently set against ben’s cheek. “i ain’t judging ye now. even after all o’ this. an’ it doesn’t matter wha’ they all think. fuck ‘em. ye ‘ave been carrying so much fer so long, always focused on wha’ they all think. do something fer yerself. stop ‘olding yerself back from wha’ ye want.”

   king. that was still something harry was trying to wrap his mind around. taking over a kingdom had been one thing, ruling it was a whole other ordeal. “aye, tha’ is wha’ i am now. bit of a weird feeling, gotta admit.”
