(also, by this time, the markings on his armor, even his jaig eyes, are painted over. eventually, his armor is discarded entirely and replaced with run-of-the-mill, standard purge trooper armor.)

The first shot we see is Din leaning back against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest. Grogu then curls up beside him to be close to his dad and stay warm.

Cut to this picture and Din has shifted to wrap his arm around Grogu and keep him close by. Not only that, but when I first saw this pic I was like "oh, Grogu has a blanket, that's so cute" and then realised... That's Din's cape.
