I think Turning Red is a really good movie for all the obvious reasons but also because it really does capture the exact moment when you realize that your mom is a real person with her own indentity that includes but is not limited being a mom

Turning Red (2022) + moments that made me audibly gasp out loud I am fully convinced that Domee Shi singlehandedly killed the Pixar censors
no matter how heartbreaking it can be the moment you realize your mother is just a girl who happens to be your mother and knowing that doesn't take away from the complexities your relationship may hold but that moment is possibly the first of many where you can understand each other... it's so important and I loved how Turning Red was able to visualize that
