tiktok and twitter and instagram are evil for all the obvious reasons but one thing that really pisses me off is how impossible is it to find ANYTHING that wasnt posted like 72 hours ago or less. one of the things I love about tumblr is how easy it is to go through a blog's archive and even filter by specific dates, post format, and tags to find something you posted years ago and even the blog search function works marginally better than it used to. on those other sites if you remember something that was posted years ago you will never find it again

in addition to accessibility photo and video descriptions are really useful for archival purposes. do you know the number of times I've googled "tumblr video [specific phrase from the video]" and it yielded the exact post I was looking for with a transcript someone had written for it

i feel so defensive and protective of people with ARFID like if i had a disorder that made my brain register 90% of food as poison for no reason and i had a bazillion people on the internet constantly calling me a manchild who needs to just grow up and stop being a picky eater i would start killing people

people with ARFID and people with very few autism safe foods and people with contamination OCD and people in ED recovery and everyone else with a complicated relationship with food that no one takes seriously GET BEHIND ME!!!!!!!
