A Feeble Disguise

It’s not a date.

Poe has to keep reminding himself that this is not a date.

Sure, they’re in a lovely little bistro. It’s small, cozy.

It’s not romantic, Dameron.

They’re sitting in a courtyard in the back of the restaurant. Fresh flowers are on each table, tall plants and shrubs and screens dotted throughout, providing more than a few strategic partitions to give its diners the illusion of privacy. Trees even line the property, their overhanging branches drenched in fairy lights.

Seriously, Dameron. This is not a date.

It’s hard to tell himself that though, and not just because of the cozy, romantic atmosphere.

“We were looking to redesign Rey’s costume, but J.J. loved her initial look so much that he didn’t want to totally change it. He wanted to make it her trademark costume throughout...we keep the same silhouette but make it in white, so Rey ends the film as Princess Leia began the entire Star Wars [franchise].”

“Rey!” Poe yelled. “We should split—” “Split up,” she yelled back. “Yeah!”

They peeled off, Rey angling right with Chewie and BB-8 toward a dust grain farm. Poe steered Finn and C-3PO leftward into a narrow rocky canyon.
