Kie: reusable metal straws, handmade beaded shell bracelets, happiest when by the ocean, musically inclined, good at everything, likes flavored vodka, amazing cook, doesn’t feel like they fit in but everyone secretly admires them, social justice warrior, protective and territorial of friends, safety captain

Summary: JJ and Y/N have always fought, since everyone can remember. They both have short tempers and a endless love for surf and chaos. But what happens when they have to pretend to be a couple? Well.. people always said that hate can sound like love sometimes.

CHAPTER 04

“Somehow you don’t even have to open your mouth to make my head hurt.”

After what felt like hours of silence Y/N gave up and with a loud sigh she complained, only to receive a judgy look from JJ, the boy she was currently handcuffed to.

“We wouldn’t be in this situation if you had just listened and stoped being a smartass in the first place.” JJ fired at her.

“This is our fault JJ, stoping making this only about me.” Y/N was beyond frustrated.

“You just give off the impression you want to murder me with that look.” JJ said.

Y/N was tired of fighting for the first time and the only thing she wanted was to get those handcuffs off, if that meant working as a team with JJ Maybank she would. Feeling a bit desperate she dropped her head against the wall capturing again his attention.

“Look JJ, I’m sorry okay? Can we please just try to get the handcuffs off? I’m tired and I don’t feel like fighting right now.” She sounded a bit defeateded, tired and sad.

“Are you going to cry?” He asked the girl facing her.

“No JJ I’m not.”

“You look like you’re about to cry.” JJ laughed at her, not in a mocking way but rather in a friendly way for what felt like the first time in ages.

The pair agreed on starting to look for the hidden keys but they weren’t no where near in sight. She moaned banging the table hard. The pogues could leave them alone to talk or whatever but the handcuffs were a bit extra for her liking.

“I didn’t even touched you yet and you’re already moaning.” JJ commented slyly, brushing his shoulder against her’s.

“Fuck you JJ.” With her free hand she slapped his chest. “Stop saying those things.” Y/N grumbled.

“Why? Don’t you like it?” JJ asked taking a step closer to her, Y/N rolled her eyes at him.

“Taking on more step and I’ll kill you in your sleep.” The redheaded girl threatened through gritted teeth, her cheeks turning red.

“Aww look at her. The famous Y/N blushing.” He laughed again pushing her back.

JJ didn’t calculate well the distance between her and the surfboard bags which ended in a big miss. Y/N lost her balance falling back and because her current situation JJ fell right behind her, landing on top of her. In a mess of tangled limbs Y/N closed her eyes and for a single second prayed when she opened her eyes all that was a nightmare.

For her disappointment it wasn’t a nightmare. JJ was really on top of her with a surfboard on his back sandwiching them together even more.

“Can you please move I can’t breath.” Y/N begged trying as well to move her hands away from his body.

“I’m trying okay! Just stay still please.” JJ said after Y/N began moving like a fish out of water. “You’re not helping me. Stay still.” He said again but this time took action with his hands, grabbing her waist. Once she was still and looking a bit mad he was able to roll back carefully.

Once the surfboard hit the ground both of them heared a loud ringing noise and that meant metal and metal meant keys and keys meant freedom from JJ, which was happiness at the moment.

“The surfboards!” They both screamed happily. “This whole time!”

Before opening the bag JJ grabbed Y/N face in pure ecstasy, it was a moment of bliss, and kissed her forehead.

“We found them!”

“I found them!” Y/N corrected with a big smile the moment her wrist was free.

By the time the handcuffs were disposed in the ground the sun had already set. Now the air a bit more chilly and the sky a lot darker.

“Why the surfboards?” JJ asked curious.

They were sitting in the back, legs hanging from the boat and a beer on their hands. The weather was turning quickly and getting colder. Y/N shared a blanket with JJ.

“I don’t know, probably because it’s the only thing we both like.”

“That has to be a lie.” Y/N laughed. “C’mon JJ we both have the same best friends, hang in the same places, there has to be more than just surf.” She explained.

“Wait, are you really tying to befriend me? I bet they roofied your beer.” The blond boy joked, a few strands of hair falling down his forehead.

“I’m trying to be nice JJ, don’t ruin the moment.” Y/N sighed.

They tried to talk and let all the tension behind, not really successful but it was the intention that counted. Eventually they got sleepy so Y/N helped JJ making two beds out of blankets. Once everything was done and they were ready to call it a day JJ reached for Y/N who had her back facing him.

“What JJ? Scared of the dark?” She mocked him.

“Things change around here when it hits midnight.” He said in a scaring voice.

“JJ stop, it’s not funny!” She whined.

“Now looks who’s scared.”

“Fuck off.” Y/N said before turning on her back again.

“Sweet dreams princess.” JJ whispered loud enough for Y/N to hear. The redhead stretched her middle finger in the air.

“Sweet dreams mop head.”

That was the last thing they said before dozing off.
