First of all, it’s not sex, it’s rape. Call it what it is.

Second of all, yes it’s incredibly common, so is extorting sex and money from sex workers in exchange for not arresting them. In countries where prostitution is criminalised, workers overwhelmingly name police officers as their number one abusers, beating clients by a long shot.

Here’s a very informative youtube video on the way police harass and racially profile women, both sex workers and civilians, under the guise of prostitution-related offenses.

Here’s a wonderful post listing a few of the many ways in which police officers in the US exploit, traffick, rape and rob sex workers while on the job, on the clock, and getting paid by a government that has forsaken both consensual adult sex workers and victims of trafficking.

Cops specifically target sex workers as a vulnerable demographic that “can’t be raped”, has to fear criminal persecution when coming forward, and is a group made up of mostly marginalised people. They know what they are doing.

This happened to me in Toronto where the police were arresting me, man handled me (left a bruise in my arm for weeks) then started joking around about “going upstairs to my room” “having some drink in the patrol car” “would you suck both of us off” etc etc

It was fucking traumatising as fuck

Thank you for sharing your experience on this. Cops are not the good guys, and they do NOT want to help sex workers, they will use any and all laws against sex work to exploit and violate us.

let’s start saying boy power and woman power. And I’m not joking about this. This is becoming a thing in Korea.

People recognized this ‘Man-girl'thing roughly during 2018 Olympics (or before that. I’m not sure tho…) when our fully grown female champions were refered to as ‘Girl Power! Beauty with medals! Golden fairy!’ on media headlines whereas male champions(even the mi nors) were titled as ‘King, Emperor, God’.

Some of us pointed it out and now we just refer to grown men as boys. Like policemen? police boy. Businessman? Business boy. That congressman? he’s a congress boy now.

And it became even more clear that this girl thing was belittling women and their power.
