Things to do for Yule
Hello witches! Here are some activities to do for Yule!
1. Enchant hot chocolate.
I always love a good cup of hot chocolate on a cold day, so why not make that a bit more magical? I always add peppermint to mine to wake myself up. You can make your hot chocolate homemade and put your own flavors into it. You can also try and make sigils with the foam!
2. Decorate your altar or sacred space.
You can decorate altar with a tiny tree or even have one in your room! You can also hang up things that remind you of Yule. If you work with any deities, you could decorate their space with what they like.
3. Make witchy presents for people.
Gifts could be as complex as a witch bottle or as simple as enchanting some jewelry. The sky is the limit!
4. Make self-love spells.
Sometimes the holidays can be a bit rough so doing self-love spells can really help! I made a witch bottle of self-love for a friend of mine. You can make sigils or even full rituals for self-love.
5. Enchant greeting cards.
If you send greeting cards to your relatives or friends, you can place sigils on them for good luck. You can place some money in for prosperity. You can simply cleanse the card and place your intention on it.
This is a bit of a shorter post but I hope this gave you some ideas for Yule! Happy holidays!
Hi everyone, I created a Youtube channel where we will be uploading videos that might help with anxiety or for relaxing! If there are any sort videos that you would like to see let me know.

Always busy, always irritated.
All of these all the time. My only off is going to bed to sleep after a solid 38 hour day of dealing with this.
Spiritual Alchemy for Beginners!!
Alchemy for beginners:
There are two types of Alchemy; the Esoteric and Exoteric. I’ll be going over Esoteric Alchemy in this post; for it is also known as ‘Spiritual’ Alchemy.
Over time the esoteric alchemic teachings which focused on the transformation of the self, devolved into esotericism. Esotericism is the desire to understand and manipulate the physical world in order to gain profit from it. This we call science.
Hermes Trismegistus, a mystic from ancient Egypt, is attributed with the concept of as above so below. In his postulate, we find clues to the need for transmutation for our basic human survival. For example, the microcosm can be demonstrated when we look at the body’s ability to break down food into the necessary energy to fuel the body. We can see that this is a base example of transmutation. In the macroscopic view, we have our consciousness that over time seeks to understand its origin and source of existence. At that time, the alchemist is ready to embrace a discipline and a Master Alchemist that can assist the process of purifying the base aspects of the self and transmute them into gold (God consciousness).
There is a purification process that must transpire for the alchemist to attain this transformation, in the acquisition of the elixir of life. Contemplation leads to purification or illumination. The secrets to finding the philosopher’s stone or the golden door, is hidden where most would never think to find it, within the body itself. Every alchemist needs a quiet laboratory, and each must retire inside oneself to find it.
Each human being must pass through seven stages to be purified. This is a grand journey toward the Infinite. Each soul must follow the Sound current, toward its Divine home. The ancient mystic alchemists called this “the music of the spheres’’. Mystics understand that everything in existence is alive with its own unique vibration. It is this Sound current that connects us and sustains life, and consciousness. There is an alchemical purification process that readies each being to ascend. There must be initiation into the Sound vibration that carries the consciousness up to and through the golden door. Through the purification of consciousness, there is a refinement of the quality of the sound that emanated from each being, and an attunement to hear the voice of God. Many have misinterpreted this purification process and have made it scientific in nature.
The seven steps of spiritual alchemy:
Calcination
As each soul comes back into the physical consciousness, it must leave the astral and condense itself into the physical consciousness. The elimination chakra is the seat of the earth element. Here physical willpower is developed.
2. Dissolution
The consciousness has awareness of its individuation and seeks connection in the physical.
3. Separation
The consciousness is made aware that in the physical universe there will always exist a polarity of opposites (duality). When this chakra is purified, consciousness seeks spiritual nourishment.
4. Conjunction
The release of outer concerns of love and a re-absorption into the Divine love that brings physical love into balance.
5. Fermentation
The 5th Chakra, seat of fantasy and delusion. When spiritualized, the realization that no truth resides in the physical consciousness. Only an enlightened soul can speak Truth.
6. Distillation
The last chakra of the body consciousness. Here the mind and the soul are knotted together and further purification begins the separation process. The soul becomes the witness, the observer, the attention faculty.
7. Coagulation
The 7th chakra, the point where consciousness begins to perceive its Divine nature. The spiritual journey home begins.
The ultimate task of the alchemist is to uncover the mysteries within. To fix the attention on what is Real and True, and rise above the limits of the physical, mental, and emotional consciousness, and leave the karmic wheel and become First Cause. Devotion through love transmutes the base consciousness into GOLD.
Love this!

the statues of apollo and athena, at the academy athens, in a full moon night.
First time ‘Randonauting.’ For those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s an app called Randonautica that uses quantum mechanics to generate your thoughts into reality. You first set your location and set an intent. Mine was to find something mystical and magical. You’re suppose to think about your intent as the app generates a set of coordinates for you to walk to that’s near your location.
The coordinates brought me and my friends down to this beautiful shore. We had to climb down a VERY steep cliff but luckily there was a rope line to help us get to the bottom. The coordinates initially wanted us to swim to that rock in the first gif. As you can see, seals are lounging on top, but honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if Merfolk have lounged on top of it before either. I found these beautiful shells and explored the small pools within the rocks. I found so many hagstones, too. Overall, this was exactly what it describes to be. I highly recommend it.
new drinking game idea! if you see this post you legally have to drink some water. self-care time bitch. consider this a threat.
here is your sign, if you needed one.
I needed it. Perhaps someone else does, too.

#Walpurgisnacht was my first ever celebration 3 years ago when I found my path, and Beltane is such an important holiday - especially this year! I hope that those who can will celebrate. I'm celebrating. For you, for me, for us. Blessed be.
Active Witch Blogs!
Hi, everyone! Yes, this is another ‘reblog if…’ but this one comes with a twist. Whilst my own dashboard is definitely dry lately, it’s also becoming increasingly obvious that the witchblr community in general is beginning to become less active. There are lots of reasons, of course, but rather than focus on the issue, I want to focus on a solution.
If you are an active witch blog, divination blog, religious blog, or anything in between that finds themselves here on witchblr, I have two things I want you to do!
1. Reblog This Post
Reblog this post and maybe say a little about yourself and your blog. But, also tag/mention blogs that you think are really wonderful and active! Again, I want this to branch out to many different kinds of bloggers. New witches, seasoned witches, brujas, european witches, root workers, hoodoo practitioners, you name it. This community is about diversity and personal pathways. It’s time to big each other up.
My humble recommendations are: @thepastelpriestess @powerpriestess @shadow-of-wings @will-o-the-witch @nightshadeandroses @witches-ofcolor @ener-chi @luna-di-fuoco @mercury-minded @urbanspellcraft @upthewitchypunx @hermeticimp @divineclecticism @themagickcat @themanicnami @underworldpriestess @ancestralmedicinemagic @she-who-treads-on-water @shintowitchling and probably even more amazing practitioners I have forgotten. Each of these people are so knowledgeable and kind, and often give to our little online community here. I love reading/seeing their content and I know you will too.
2. Write About Your Craft
Not just this month, every month, but I do want to maybe try to encourage February to be a really good month for sharing and creation. It doesn’t have to be a long post, it doesn’t even have to have a theme. Just share. Tell people what you’ve been up to, or explain a personal revelation you’ve had. Ask for tips on a spell you’re working on. One thing we’ve lost on witchblr is a sense of personal identities, probably after months of silly discourse making people shy away. But here’s the thing… Witchcraft is personal.
If anyone more media savvy has any great ideas for this, please add on. All I can think is to share, and maybe ask some interesting questions to blogs you admire! I don’t mean the usual stuff, but maybe ask ‘What is something you always put into your spells?’ or ‘What’s your personal take on how magic works?’ - something which is interesting and allows us all to find our places again.
I am really interested in seeing what we all end up making or writing, so if you want to share some personal ideas, or find others wanting to create a more active witchblr again, we can use the tag #WakingWitchblr. Talk about your blog on it, write ‘reblog if’ posts to find likewise people, ask an interesting questions. Let’s just… Be again, people!
Much love, stay blessed. ✨
Thank you for the tag, @torque-witch! I’m Marietta and I’ve been some form of witch for nearing 20 years. I started actively blogging about my craft on www.witchywords.com in 2012 and, because of that, I joined Tumblr in 2013 as a way to connect with other witches. My ever-evolving Craft has currently landed on a solitary modern-meets-trad-craft mix with a focus on spirits of any kind, familiarship, and the merger of psychology and witchcraft in shadow work. That being said, I have a heavy backstock of Wheel of the Year and spell working posts, including photos of altars and pictures of sabbat rituals when I was leading a coven over the course of about seven years. I’ve had time to dip my toe in it all at one point or another. Over at my blog (not Tumblr), I’ve been working on a variety of series, including a 10-part series on shadow work and witchcraft, a 13-part series on modern correspondences of stones, a 13-part series on modern correspondences of herbs, a series of survival guide infographs for retrogrades, and a Wheel of the Year thrifty altar series that I’m wrapping up from last year. On Tumblr, I mostly post my own work along with some personal posts and the occasional reblog. Honestly, most of the Tumblr blogs I loved haven’t been posted to in years. I actually went through just now and removed over half of the people I follow. That being said, my recommendations as it stands are: @cunning-magus @hellboundwitch @mahigxn @mrs-k-cottage-witch @orriculum @she-who-treads-on-water @spiritscraft @stormbornwitch @thefatfeministwitch @thesigilwitch @upthewitchypunx @visardistofelphame @witches-ofcolor
Slightly fangirling over @witchy-words recommending me and following me! Thank you Marietta :) 💜💜💜
Edited Post to finish it! Lol
Hello! I am @mrs-k-cottage-witch but you can call me Mrs.K or Amanda. I have been into witchy and occult things for 15 years and have been a pracirng witch for going on 6 years. I am a humble hearth and kitchen witch with cottage witch tendencies. I like to my my home a safe, welcoming, and warm place for my loved one and welcome guests. I do a lot of crafty type witchy crafts, such as candle decorating, altars and home decor for seasons, food recipes, spell jars, art or decoration making, and some wood burning and jewelry/amulet making. I also like to dabble in different forms of divination and sigil making. I am a thrifty witch and I yard sale, dollar store, and craft store haul for supplies and post about them.
I am not sure of active blogs, because it has been a little quiet on witchblr lately. Here are blogs I recommend but I don’t know how active they are!
@baduhennasraven @barberwitch @cannibalcoalition @upthewitchypunx @themadrebel @whichwitchami @stormbornwitch @breelandwalker @bibliophilicwitch @witchy-words @lavenderwaterwitch @madamehearthwitch @lemonbalmgirl @maddiviner @hearthandhomewitchery @hellboundwitch @thepaganhomestead
sThanks for thinking of my @mrs-k-cottage-witch, I know I’ve been on the quiet side of late, but I am still here!
Hi! I am @hearthandhomewitchery and run This Enchanted House. My name is Danielle and I have been practicing witchcraft for over 20 years. I practice hearth magick and hedge witchcraft with smattering of other occult interests including things like tarot. I got started in my early twenties in college. I was really active but then when I had children, I took more of an “armchair” approach, still practicing quietly on my own. In the past few years, I’ve felt a call back to a more active practice and to share my experience with others. So I started this blog.
At the time, there was a big brew-ha-ha over aesthetic witches and what made a real witch. I got curious as to what aesthetic magick would look like and have spent the past year or so developing it as a “serious” form. A few months ago, my computer died and all of my writing, including future posts for the blog and the halfway completed manuscript for my book on aesthetic magick was lost.
It was really disheartening and I need to take a break to take stock and figure out what to do next. I am recharge and ready to come back and make a go again. So thank @underworldariel for this post to help kickstart me!
I fear that there is going to be a lot over overlap but here are some blogs I follow that are currently active:
@divinationtools @allmyplants @whichwitchinbitch @old-mother-hubbard @plainoldwitch @kitchenwitchrecipebook @thebewitchingnook @madamehearthwitch @sicklysisters @witchmums @imaginarywitchcraft @goodefarmwitch @witch-craft-ing @prairiewitchy @barberwitch @enchantedliving (official blog for enchanted living magazine which has some witch content) @witchy-lisa @thespellweavingspirit @queenofthegrove @whitewitchparlour @farmwitch @owlkeyme @poisonappleprintshop @witchy-words
Thank you, @hearthandhomewitchery! I feel humbled to be on your list!
About Me:
I am a magician, witch, occultist, Pagan, and Certified Professional Tarot Reader. I have been wandering this crooked and wonderful path since the late 90s and have gone through a number of iterations of my practice. I love learning and therefore am always searching out new things and trying to add depth and meaning to what I do.
I really try to avoid that echo-chamber when it comes to discussing “witchy stuff,” and therefore try to surround myself with media and people from varying backgrounds. My closest real life friends are Wiccan and Lucifarian, and I hang with those that practice social justice witchcraft, Buddhism, and Lucumi. I listen to podcasts and watch YouTube channels from chaos magick to ceremonial magick. It turns out we have more in common that you would think. Oh- and since I came onto this path in the 90s, I have a soft spot in my heart for Scott Cunningham… and The Craft.
My associations:
I live in Virginia, USA and co-lead a MeetUp group here for pagans and spiritual searchers, which has allowed me to discuss first-hand views and practices that are different than mine (great for growth!). I lead a tarot study group through the House of White tarot school. I am also working through Jo Mc’Carthy’s Quariea course, which has influenced me a lot in the last couple years.
My business:
You can find my tarot services on my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/leesacallawayconsulting/. (Feel free to drop by and hit that “like” button!) I pride myself in being a professional, transparent, and straightforward reader, so hit me up if you’re interested in getting a reading!
My recommendations:
These are SOME of the blogs I’m into right now: @sorormimm, @thingsfromthedirt, @malliwaybros, @matauryn, @thebuddingherbalist, @headroomherb, @lasorcieredunord, @circles-of-salt, @themagpiesmusings, @rainy-day-witches24, @maddiviner, @necroknights-obscurium, @acraftylittlewitch, @weirdandwitchy, @earthenchantress, @solitarypath, @the-typhonian, @persephoneandthepomegranates, @kentuckwitch, @hearthandhomewitchery, @themodernsouthernpolytheist, @honestlystupendouscrusade, @devinhunter, @naturelovingwitchboss, @the-swamprat, @stonesandsigils, @marathewitch, @deerhoofandrabbitsfoot, @magicoldcottage, @stellelux, @shadowsandcrows, @poisonerspath
And honestly - there are more many great ones here in Tumblr world!
Beyond humbled that one of my witchblr absolute favorites @witchy-lisa would include me!!!
I'm an animist Pagan who practices ancestral witchcraft with some Green witchery mixed in. As spirituality is evolving, so too is my practice! I'm a former southern Baptist lay minister who became a pagan later in life than most seem to. I really enjoy discussing spirituality of all kinds and I absolutely love to learn.
I love the earth and all the things about it, I am a seasoned tarot and oracle card reader, I do soul retrieval work and I work and practice protection magick.
I welcome everyone who comes with a kind heart and an open mind. I am respectful of everyone and I love to help whenever and wherever I am needed. If I can ever be of assistance, never hesitate to ask!
As mentioned ad nauseam, there are so so many great #witchblr blogs to follow, but here are a few that I frequent as much as I can! If I forgot anyone, forgive me! Happy learning!

Tips on how to cleanse negative energies🍋🍚
What you need:
• 1 lemon
• Salt
•Cut the lemon in 4 parts like. It should look like this⬇️
•Then, add the salt inside the lemon and make sure it's filled. Place the lemon in a plate with salt.
• Once you have your lemon with the salt in it, put the plate under your bed. Make sure you put the plate at the same spot where your heart and chest are when you lay down in bed.
•Leave the lemon until the salt is crystallized in it. Check it to see any changes in the colour of the lemon and stuff like that.
Another tip is:
•Fill a glass container with 3 quarters of salt and add a quarter of vinegar.
Leave the glass with the ingredients in your room or any room you want to cleanse until the salt is crystallized.
IMPORTANT: Remember that you must charge these elements with your intent/purpose so think, say, visualise your intent while you prepare them.

As Gov. Andrew Cuomo calls on the NYPD to be more aggressive, community advocates say police need to practice social distancing.
But yeah no I’m sure I’m overreacting. Just follow orders like a good little citizen and everything will be fine 🙃
root chakra ❤️
this week, i worked on my root chakra, and you can too!
what is it?
the root chakra is an energy point and is one of the seven chakra points in our bodies. it deals with stability, emotional health, and basic needs. this chakra is associated with the color red.
where is it?
the root chakra is located as the base of our spine/groin area.
unbalanced root chakra
so how do you know if your root chakra is unbalanced? well, there are two types of unbalances: deficient and excessive. i’ll include some of the symptoms below!
deficient root chakra
you feel lifeless
very sluggish
passive
anxious
trust issues
feeling mentally blocked
excessive root chakra
hyper
agitated
anger
greed
aggressive
very reactive
it might even be a combo of the two! your root chakra might just be all over the place; going uppp and downnn...
how to unblock your root chakra
okay, so now that we know if we have a blocked root chakra, now what? well now we have to unblock it! it’s no easy work and will not be done in a day. you have to work on it consistently and remain hopeful and strong! here are some ways to unblock your root chakra:
listen to grounding music 🌩
sounds of thunder
mongolian throat singing
australian didgeridoo
chant LAM 🌞
LAM has is at the same vibration frequency as your root chakra
stretch the word out to make it sound like ‘lllllllaaaaammmmm’
walk in nature 🌸
appreciate the beauty around you
if it’s warm, walking barefoot can feel really nice
hyper focus on the four elements which surround you; the dirt for earth; the breeze for air, the heat from the sun for fire, and the water which your body has a lot of or appreciate a body of water
be mindful 🧘🏻♀️
take a teeny part of your day to focus on your breathing
be aware of every sense and repeat “i am” affirmations
meditate
use crystals 🧙🏻♀️
hematite
jasper
smoky quartz
black tourmaline
aromatherapy 🌬
pepper
ginger
sandalwood
patchouli
explore your fears 🕯
what are the reasons behind them?
journal them down
don’t be afraid! you got this :)
practice catharsis 🧸
punch a punching bag
scream into a pillow
dynamic yoga
drink tea 🍵
ashwaganda and cloves tea
dandelion root tea
ginger tea
tea with elderflower
Good stuff - been working on mine also, and this is a perfect list of what to do!
