Wherever You Stray, I Follow | The Beginning
Life with Buck, Eddie, and their kids Chris and Lauren
Baker!Buck and Actor!Eddie
This will be a little series!!! (also they deserve to be girl dads)
Buck and Eddie aren’t married; they just raise their kids together like they’re siblings. However, if you asked people on the streets about them, they would say that they are the cutest couple they have ever seen. Before we begin, you need to see the story of how they met.
Similar to Eddie, Buck was widowed. His wife Vivien died just a few months after giving birth to their daughter Lauren. He was devastated. Other than his sister Maddie, Vivien was the only other person who truly cared about him. He met her in their home economics class, and they shared a passion for baking. After they graduated, they started saving up to open their own bakery. Finally, after 4 years of working minimum wage jobs, they saved up to open a tiny corner bakery. Shortly after that, Buck proposed to her and they got married. Three years later, they had Lauren. Five months later, Vivien died.
Buck tried to run the bakery on his own, but it was difficult to do so while raising a child by himself. When Lauren turned two, he made the difficult decision of closing the bakery and moving to Los Angeles. He would leave everything behind: his friends, his childhood, his sister. His main priority now was Lauren, and solely Lauren. He would give up everything to make sure she grew up better than he did.
“Daddy, are we going to be movie stars?” Lauren asked. She was named after Lauren Bacall, one of Vivien’s favorite actresses. Back in high school, she did musical theatre and got the lead each time.
“I’m not sure, Laurie, let's find a place to live first,” He responded. He booked an Uber for the two of them, and shortly after, Lauren dozed off. As they arrived at their very small apartment complex, he set Lauren on the couch and started searching for jobs. After hours of researching, he found the perfect place. It was a bakery that was located right next to major movie studios, so he knew the pay would be amazing. He found out that they also did catering for popular celebrities, so he knew that he would get opportunities to meet some of the biggest movie stars on the planet.
He applied for the job and prayed that he would get an interview. A few days later, his prayers were answered, and he booked the interview. A week later, he got the job. To celebrate, he took Lauren to get some ice cream.
He never intended to find love in L.A.; that was not his mission. His mission was to make a living and make enough to open his own bakery, similar to what he did in Pennsylvania.
His first day on the job was rather boring. He just packaged baked goods for customers and took a bunch of orders. Through the corner of his eyes, he saw a tall man walk in with someone he assumed was his son. The son had blonde hair and had red crutches with him.
“Dad, can I try the fruit tart this time, please?” the blonde-haired boy asked.
“Maybe next time, Chris, I need to place a cake order for Ravi’s birthday,” The man replied. Instantly, Buck remembered who he was. That was Academy Award-nominated actor Eddie Diaz. He started feeling lightheaded. He never thought he would meet someone famous in his first month living in L.A., but he was proven wrong.
“Hello, I am Evan. How can I help you today?”
“I would like to place a cake order,” Eddie replied. Buck took out the order sheet and started taking the actor's order. He ordered a 2-layer marble cake with a strawberry filling and white buttercream icing.
“Also, can I get a fruit tart for my son?”
“Yes, of course.” Buck packaged the fruit tart and handed Eddie the bag. He paid and left the bakery after saying thank you. He was so excited to tell Lauren about this.

Dance Practice
Happy WIP wednesday
Eddie Diaz helps his sister with her dance lessons.
El Paso, Texas 2009
It seems that ballroom dancing was a common interest among the Diaz siblings. Even though Eddie quit at 14 after his parents made the sport all about trophies, he would still find himself taking his sisters to their ballroom dancing lessons. He would watch them dance with a huge smile plastered on his face.
He never wanted his parents to take them to their lessons because he knew that they would ruin it for them as well. Which is why he was the only one there at the competitions. When Sophia or Adriana would win, he would tell them how proud he was of them. He would also say the same thing when they lost. He knew that ballroom dancing was all about passion and love. Even though he lost all the passion and love for it, he made sure his sisters wouldn't. He would never forgive himself if Helena or Ramon ruined that for them.
Eddie was just finishing up his homework for the weekend when he got interrupted by Sophia barging into his room, sobbing. Today was the rare instance where Helena took the girls to their ballroom dance practice, and Eddie regretted it.
“Sophia, what happened?” Eddie asked. He placed his books to the side and gently stroked Sophia’s hair.
“After practice, in the car, mom got mad at how I danced,” she sobbed into his pillow. Eddie was furious; his mother was doing the same thing to Sophia. Ruining her passion.
“What did she say?”
“She said my dancing was sloppy and messy.”
“I have seen your dancing, Sophia, you are one of the best dancers in your team, and I am NOT being biased,” Eddie responded. Sophia looked up at him, her tear-stricken face breaking Eddie’s heart.
“I know right? I am like the Michelangelo of ballroom dancing,” Sophia’s comment made Eddie laugh.
“Can you help me with my dance routine, please?” Sophia asked. Eddie was skeptical at first. He quit when he was 14; he is 17 now. It has been three years since he even listened to ballroom dance music; however, the look on his sister's face had him convinced.
“Of course I will.” When he knew his parents were out of their house for their date, he led Sophia and Adriana down to their living room. He turned on Sophia’s dance music and held her hands.
“Just follow my steps, okay.” Sophia nodded in response and started dancing. Eddie was shocked. Sophia was amazing at her dance. She memorized every step, and her movements were smooth. Even Adriana started cheering. He could also see the passion return on her face.
When the two sisters were asleep, and the Diaz parents returned home, Eddie decided he wanted to have a conversation with Helena.
“Mom, can we talk?” Eddie asked as his mother entered the kitchen.
“About what, Edmundo?”
“About what you said to Sophia after her dance lesson.”
“What did I say?” Eddie was getting annoyed with her. How could she forget how she treated her daughter earlier that day?
“You said her dancing was sloppy and messy. When I helped her with her routine, it was the exact opposite.”
“I just felt like her movements were too masculine.”
“I fail to see the problem with that.”
“If I want her to win-” Eddie stopped her before she finished.
“What is it you and winning? You make everything about trophies and winning. That is how I quit ballroom dancing. It should not be about what, but what Sophia wants,” Eddie told her. He was furious. He has always been protective of his sisters, especially after his father pulled him aside and told him to be the “man of the house”.
Helena was left speechless. Right before she could speak up, Eddie left and went upstairs to Sophia’s room. He opened the door a bit, expecting her to be asleep, but he saw her dancing, trying to perfect her routine.
“You should sleep, you have school tomorrow,” Eddie walked into her room.
“I need to be perfect, Eddie.” Eddie held her hands and sat her on her bed.
“Whether you win or lose, you will always be perfect to me, Sophia.”

This is from prompt #4 for Sicktember (prompts 1-3 are live now; prompt 4 goes live tomorrow) -"alternate prompt- gentle back/belly rub"
Jonah stopped and started over. “Hi, [redacted]. I’m your brother.” She wasn’t crying anymore, but she was just… looking at him. She didn’t blink. Were babies supposed to blink their eyes? “I’m Jonah,” Jonah said, turning around, his back to the door. “You knew that. You might hear me call the guys who are your dads… not Dad. And I want you to know, it’s not a mean thing. It’s not like when my friend Charlie and I were at the trampoline park, and Uncle Judd said it was time to go, and Charlie said, ‘Don’t tell me what to do, Juddy!’ Boy, did that make him mad.” Baby [redacted] was still just looking up at Jonah, listening intently. “TK is your dad,” Jonah told her. “But he’s my big brother. I have a dad. He doesn’t live here. He lives in jail, in New York. We go see him on my spring break every year. And in the summer. I miss him. But we talk on the phone. And Papa Carlos… I call him Papa or Abba. He answers to either one. They’re good dads. They won’t give you your own phone when you ask. Even if you ask nicely. Even if you say please. Even if everyone else in your class has a phone and you don’t…”

“I’ve never felt this good before. When I’m with you, when your body is against mine, I have never felt better.” TK’s eyes suddenly burn, and he presses their mouths together again.
“Me too. To everything.” Carlos laughs against his mouth, and then twists his body, TK settling underneath him.
“Can I?” TK looks down to find Carlos’ hand on the front of his black pants, and he nods as his cheeks flush. “I should have showered after work, but I–.”
“TK, I don’t mind. Unless you do, then we can start there.” He says sincerely, and TK’s heart melts. He has never in his life been cared for in this way, not even by his ex fiancé.
“I’m okay, then.” Carlos nods, kissing him as he expertly undoes the clasp holding his pants up, and pulls away to get them down TK’s long legs. He shimmies, and Carlos never breaks eye contact as his boxers follow.

Sneak Peek into my next chapter of my fic
Aqsa is going to turn six years old next week. For the past month and a half, Buck has been in party planning mode. Everyone knew it was best to avoid Buck when he was in the middle of party planning due to how seriously he takes it.
“Listen, Buck, it’s just a party, Aqsa isn’t even going to remember it in 10 years,” Chimney told Buck when they arrived at the station.
“It’s Aqsa’s first birthday without her mother. I want it to be a happy memory for her,” Buck replied. He wasn’t in the mood for this right now. Chimney placed his hand on Buck’s shoulder to offer some reassurance and had an apologetic look on his face.
“So what does Aqsa want to do for her birthday?” Hen asked as she was setting the table.
“Taylor Swift, I already made her birthday playlist, and yeah, it’s only Taylor Swift,” Buck grinned. While the Buckley family members all had different personalities, the one thing they all had in common was their love for Taylor Swift. Even Marwa would bob her head up and down whenever one of her songs played.
“However, instead of buying cake, she wants to bake one from scratch with me,” he added. He had a bigger smile on his face now. The fact that his daughter wanted to spend one-on-one time with him made his heart fill with joy, but it also concerned him. Aqsa started developing anxiety from being away from her dad. She would wait outside the bathroom door when he was taking a shower or simply using the bathroom. She would follow him around the house, refusing to leave his side. She even slept in his room. He did not know what had happened. Aqsa was usually independent, but now the idea of being left alone for five seconds would cause her to start crying. School drop-offs were just as hard, if not more. She would refuse to let go of Buck’s leg and only let go when Safiyya had to practically drag her into the classroom. Buck sobbed on his way to work that day.
When he got home from his shift, he decided he was going to confront the situation head-on. The moment he opened the door, a tear-stricken Aqsa crashed right into him. He lifted her and placed a soft kiss on her forehead. He gently wiped her tears away and held her close.

The Best Day
T.K's sister got stood up, so he comes up with a plan too make it all better
T.K. and Owen are interrupted mid-conversation by the sound of the front door slamming open and shut. They turn around and see an angry 15-year-old storming up the stairs, where they once again hear the door slam open and shut again.
“What was that about?” T.K. asked. Despite the nearly 13-year age gap, the two Strand siblings were close and would do anything for each other.
“She had a date today, and from the looks of it, it did not go so well,” Owen replied.
“A date?”
“Yeah, with some guy from her chemistry class, or physics, I don’t know,” Owen answered.
Twenty minutes of silence have passed, and it has been eating away at the two of them alive. It killed Owen that his baby girl upstairs was upset. It killed T.K. that his baby sister, the other half of him, would probably lock herself in her room for eternity.
“I can’t do this anymore. I am going to check in on her,” T.K. said, heading up to his sister's room.
“Want me to come with you?” Owen asked, standing up as well.
“No, it’s fine,” T.K. said, shaking his head.
“I think it’s time for some overdue T.K. and Mari time,” he quickly added. Owen smiled and nodded in response.
Standing outside his sister's bedroom door was scarier than any firefighter and paramedic duties he dealt with. Mari was always scary, but when she was upset, she could be mistaken for the reincarnation of the devil. He looked up at the Taylor Swift poster on her door, and he immediately knew what to do. He finally had the courage to knock on the door.
“Mari, it’s T.K., can I come in?” he asked, doing 3 knocks. Mari had this rule for everyone. They each had to knock a specific number of times before she let them in. For T.K., it was 3; Owen only had to knock once.
“What is it?” she asked. He could hear her silent sobs through the door, and his heart shattered.
“Can I come in?” he asked her. He was praying that she could say yes
“Well, you knocked three times.” That was all the permission he needed. He opened the door, where he saw his sister, lying face-first in the bed, with her face in her pillow. He lay down next to her on the bed and stayed silent for a few seconds.
“Ethan Evans is a huge jerk, and all guys like him should go to hell,” she muttered into her pillow.
“I’m assuming that he's the guy you went on a date with?” T.K. questioned. Mari finally sat up straight on the bed and nodded. He could see her tear-stained face and her makeup smudged, some even on the pillow.
“What happened, Mars Bar?” T.K. asked getting her makeup remover from her side table. He quickly got to work removing all her smudged makeup.
“I went to the diner and I got us a table for two, I was waiting for him to show up,” she started. T.K. nodded and urged her to continue.
“I was waiting and waiting, and he never showed up I then heard laughing, I looked out the window and I saw his friends,” she added on. T.K. knew exactly where this was going.
“They were recording me, and they were laughing at me. Ethan was not there; he stood me up, and got his friends to record me looking pathetic,” she sobbed into her pillow again. T.K. cupped his sister's face.
“Hey, look at me, Ethan and his friends are jerks, okay, but they do not matter at all,” he told her softly.
“So come on downstairs, let's have fun,” he added, grabbing his sister's hands. Marion rolled her eyes.
“Don’t make me do it,” he responded with a laugh. Her eyes widened.
“You wouldn’t.”
“Oh, I would,” he all of a suddenly started carrying his sister upside down, down the stairs. When they arrived in the living room, he placed her on the couch.
“Listen, no sister of mine is going to spend the entire weekend crying over some douchebag, so you know what time it is?” he told her, plastering a nig grin on his face.
“I am not going to say it,” she rolled her eyes in mock annoyance.
“Come on, say it,” T.K. urged her.
“T.K. and Mari time,” she mumbled.
“What?”
“T.K. and Mari time,” she said louder.
“T.K and Mari time, he said right after. He led her to his car.
“Oh, can I drive?” she asked.
“Absolutely Not.” Once they both got into the car, T.K. offered her the aux.
“You’re the D.J.”
“You never let me play music.”
“Well, today is your lucky day then.” The two Strand siblings found themselves in arcades, at a fancy Italian restaurant, and later that on, ice cream. The two were now sitting on top of his car, just staring at the night sky.
“So how is astronomy class going?” he asked her.
“I’d rather not say,” she responded. They both laughed.
“Thank you for this, T.K.,” Mari said as they both got off the roof of his car.
“Anything for you, Miss Mari,” T.K. responded, driving back home.
On the drive home, Mari fell asleep, forgetting about the horrible “date” she had planned with Ethan earlier. Owen greeted T.K as he came home and carried a sleeping Mari to her room.

Full Chapter on AO3
Time froze for Buck the moment he realized he could not move his leg. The LAFD firetruck has fallen on his leg after someone placed a bomb in it. He looked at Eddie with fear in his eyes. Despite the pain, the only thing he could think of was his girls; they had already lost their mother, and they could not lose him next. Throughout his struggles, he felt someone hold his hand. He looked up and saw Eddie. Eddie was holding his hand. He did not need to do that, but he did not care; all Eddie wanted was to make sure Buck knew he was not alone. He had Eddie, the 118, Christopher, and his daughters.
Buck’s mind blocked out the conversation Bobby was having with the bomber; his only thoughts were about how Eddie was holding his hand. Even as the civilians helped lift the firetruck off of him, Eddie still held his hand. When he was placed on the gurney, Eddie still held his hand. On the way to the hospital, Eddie still held his hand. The only time Eddie let go of Buck was when he was rushed into emergency surgery. He wished he could have held his hand during that, too.

Adore You
Okay so I wanted to make a quick wip in Eddie Diaz's sisters meeting Shannon for the first time because I think they would have loved her so much.
Also Eddie Diaz is the eldest child.
Eddie first met Shannon when they were in middle school, and they were casual friends. As soon as they started high school, they grew closer together, and eventually Eddie had the courage to ask her out. To his relief, she said yes.
After a few months of dating, Eddie finally decided it was time to introduce Shannon to his family, and by family, he means his two younger sisters, Sophia and Adriana.
"Please, for the love of god, do not embarrass me today," Eddie told his sisters, braiding their hair.
"Now why on Earth would we do that?" Sophia smirked. Eddie groaned as he finished up braiding Adriana's hair.
"I am begging you guys, she means a lot to me," Eddie responded.
"Fine, I won't say anything," Sophia raised her arms in defeat. Eddie sighed and pulled her in for a side hug.
"You guys will love her, I promise you," Eddie said, dragging Adriana into the hug as well.
"And you guys know that I never break my promises."
"What about the time you lied about my birthday party?" Adriana asked.
"If I told you about the party, then it would not have been a surprise, genius," Eddie rolled his eyes.
Their Diaz sibling bantering was interrupted by the sound of the doorbell. Eddie immediately stood up and took his sisters downstairs. He pulled them near the door.
"Remember, do not embarrass me," Eddie ordered. He pointed his finger specifically towards Sophia. Sophia placed her hand in front of her chest and gasped in mock annoyance.
Eddie opened the door, and standing right there was none other than Shannon Diaz. The Diaz sisters' jaws dropped. Eddie was right, Shannon was gorgeous. She had beautiful shoulder-length brown hair. Her smile was so welcoming, it was understandable why Eddie was in love with her.
"It is so nice to finally meet you two. Eddie told me so much about you guys, like he would talk about you two non-stop," Shannon said as she shook their hands.
Eddie made a look at them, encouraging them to continue talking to her.
"I'm Adriana."
"I'm Sophia.'
"Well, it is nice to meet you two," Shannon responded.
"So what bet did you lose?" Sophia asked. Eddie looked offended and groaned. Shannon just laughed.
"You're funny, you know that, funnier than your brother," Shannon responded, still laughing. Eddie was still in the corner and still offended.
"I agree with you on that, it is so hard having to be the funny sibling," Sophia said.
"Okay, okay, quit being obnoxious," Eddie sighed in annoyance; however, he was overjoyed that his sisters were getting along with Shannon.
"I love your hair, Adriana," Shannon said, turning her head to look at the youngest Diaz sibling.
"Thank you, Eddie did it for me," Adriana responded, tugging on her braid. Shannon looked at Eddie, who only smiled in return.
"So."
"So what?"
"What do you think of my sisters?" Eddie asked as he fiddled with Shannon's hair.
"I think that they are funny, sweet, and have the best older brother in the world," Shannon said.
"I'm glad you like them."
"I adore them."

This is from my upcoming chapter of my TK and Sophie fic -
2021 -
“Mom,” TK picked at his eggroll. “There’s no deeper meaning. We just… broke up.”
“You just broke up?” his mother repeated, eyebrows raised. “With someone you were completely head over heels for, in the best relationship you’ve ever had?”
TK wrinkled his nose. “Mom, no one says ‘head over heels’. Like, not even in romcoms. And I’ve had a much less worrisome last couple days than someone else you gave birth to,” he couldn’t stop himself from adding. “Did you have to work your magic on a judge and pick me up from a holding cell? No, you did not.”

Anything For You
Evan Buckley and Daughter
Evan Buckley would do anything for his daughter
warnings: fluff, angst, mentions of death
If you want a request, request it in my ask me anything
Every couple months it would be a new home and a new job, sometimes even a new country.
This is how Evan Buckley found himself in Puerto Rico with his 5-year-old daughter Lucille. As soon as he finished bartending school, he packed his and daughter’s belongings and ventured off into a new journey.
It takes a while to gain his trust. so he refuses to hire any type of babysitter or nanny. While Lucille did go to school, she needed somebody to watch over when she was done. Which is why he chose the shift that started at 1:30. He would pick Lucille up from school, set her a table with her coloring books, and then take her back to their little home around 7:30 when he finishes up with his shift. He would have picked up an 8:30 shift, but that would mean he would not get to see his daughter in the morning, and that he would not be there to pick her up after school.
Buck waits with the other parents outside the school, he is excited to hear what his daughter has done at school today.
The school bell rings and Buck holds his arms out as he sees the familiar head of blonde curls running towards him. He lifts her up in his arms and places a kiss on her forehead.
"How was school Luci," Buck asked her. He started walking to the bar he worked at. It was less than a 20 minute walk, so he did not mind walking.
"Today I drew a picture of a bunny," the blonde girl said.
"Oh really and can I see that picture?"
"Yes you can."
Buck loved his daughter more than anything. She was his whole world. It has always just been the two of them. Just Buck and Luci. She was named after Lucille Ball. Old Hollywood icon, who starred in hit sitcom I Love Lucy. Luci's mother Joan adored that show. Even after her death, Buck would continue to watch the show. It was one of the few reminders he had left of her.
As Buck arrived to work, he realized he had around 10 minutes before his shift started, so he spent those 10 minutes with Luci.
"Okay Luci, I have to get to work now, just sit here," Luci nodded and continued coloring in her princess coloring book that one of Buck's co workers got for her.
Despite Luci being sat in the table right next to the bar, Buck would still make small glances towards her just to make sure she was okay.
Around 5:30, Buck took his lunch break. He got himself and Luci a small pizza.
"Is that the bunny you drew?" Buck asked when he saw the pink bunny on the table. Luci nodded immediately and handed Buck the drawing.
"This is going on the fridge," he smiled kissing her cheek. Luci smiled back.
"Since tomorrow is Saturday and I don't have work on the weekends."
"DADDY AND DAUGHTER DAY!" Luci yelled. Buck asked for the weekends off, so he could spend them with Luci, He would spend every minute of the weekends with her. He does admit that he wished he could spend more time with her, but raising a child is expensive so he needed the job.
As he went back to bartending, something on the T.V caught his eye. A bunch of firefighter working together to help civilians. They never stopped fighting, they never stoped trying. Something in Buck shifted. That is his calling, that is what he was meant to do. He wanted, no needed to be a firefighter.
As soon as his shift was over, he carried Luci and he stuff back to their tiny home.
"Luci sweetie?" Buck asked the moment he realized that she was still up.
"Yes daddy?"
"I know we move a lot, but how would you feel about moving to California?"
"Like the movie stars?"
"Yes like the movie stars."
"Yes please," she responded and fell asleep right after that.
Buck went to do research on fire academies in L.A, he quickly submitted an application and payed back down on the bed. He could not sleep, the excitement filled him up. Just as he was about to doze off, he heard tiny footsteps enter his room.
"I had a nightmare," his daughter said. He helped her onto his bed and kissed the top of her head. She cuddled closer to him and fell back asleep.
Buck knew that they were going to be okay.

Thank you for the tag, @wlwtarlos @carlos-in-glasses @henrygrass @annoyingcloudearthquake @heartstringsduet @carlossreaders @everlastingday 💝
This is from the upcoming chapter of my TK and Sophie fic- (we're in the Tarlos breakup era now!)
“Carlos?” Owen gently knocked on the open door. “You alright?” “O-Captain Strand.” Carlos sat up and self-consciously wiped at his eyes. “I’m sorry. I was… I was just finishing up…” “No need to rush,” Owen said. “Can I sit down?” Carlos nodded. “It’s your house, sir. You don’t need to ask.” Owen came into the room and sat down on the bed on the other side of the suitcase that was next to Carlos. “Well, I’ve gotten a ‘sir’ and a ‘Captain Strand’ in the span of thirty seconds,” Owen observed. “I guess the days of you calling me Owen are done, huh?” “It doesn’t feel right.” Carlos shook his head. “Since TK…” he didn’t let himself finish that sentence. “I mean, I know you must hate me.” He said quietly. “I don’t think most people want people they despise using their first name.” “I don’t hate you, Carlos,” Owen told him. “Far from it.” Carlos’s brow furrowed in confusion. “But… he must have told you.” “Actually, his sister told us that the two of you broke up,” Owen relayed. “We weren’t given a reason why. We’re all curious though.” “Join the club,” Carlos said hollowly.

WIP WEDNESDAY
“So, TK, got a missus waiting for you back home?” He glances at Jonah, one of the very few people alive who know where TK’s heart lies, and he seems too distracted to have even heard Judd’s question.
“No, I don’t.”
“Not even back in New York?" TK doesn’t question how he knows that information, the man being the sheriff and Grace having access to more personal information due to him willingly handing her his files.
“No, sir– Judd. There isn’t much time for dating, lately.”
