More than 12% of a plan

          thor let out a laugh “don’t be so negative tiny rabbit, midgard isn’t all that bad.” he’d been with the guardians since thanos, part of him didn’t want to return after losing so many of his close friends… but then again this wasn’t the same midgard and his friends weren’t dead anymore. “did you hear? i am a skin in fortnite! that will show noobmaster69.”

        Rocket only allowed Thor to call him a rabbit, finding that after the time they had spent together it wasn’t worth constantly correcting him. The more he grew used to it, the easier it got to ignore. “You should hear the way other people talk about Terra if you think it isn’t that bad. This place is the worst.” He replied. “Quill comes from here so that should tell you all you need to know about it.” On the subject of the video game, he stared at the God. “Noobmaster69 is someone’s name? Is that a normal name here?” 

Oh that laugh was not only loud but hell of a long one. Peter waited patiently for Rocket to finish. Or he tried to. “It’s not that funny Rocket.” Was it really? “I am an expert negotiator!” He exclaimed. “I got all the schmooze and small talk down pat.  Have you ever seen me fuck up a negotiation? Well except when one of you steal somethin or insult someone or the person is just a plain old nasty asshole but besides that!”

    “It is that funny.” He replied almost immediately, stopping mid laugh. “When have you ever negotiated anything successfully?” They all knew that the only reason they hadn’t ended up dead by this point was thanks to Gamora. Quill would have gotten himself and the rest of the team murdered by now if it wasn’t for her. “You listen to yourself when you talk, right? You fuck up a negotiation every time you try to negotiate. I’m surprised you even know what the word negotiate means.” 

Eddie once hearing from Gamora that the crew had made some sort of pitstop here, the symbiote duo had to seek the ship out, it hadn’t changed much from the time they hitchhike across the galaxy on it to Klyntar for their first meeting with Knull. The blonde was on his knees to be somewhat level with Rocket’s bed. Venom was poking the lump under the bedding until the movement shook both the pair causing Eddie to fumble back. “Dude, I thought you were dead.” He fumbled from the floor to push himself back onto his knees. “Sadly, happy hour will never be happy again on my side of things. Heard from G that you were repairing the ship thought I could give our assistance but if you don’t want it then I guess we can leave you to catch the zzz.”

        “I was sleeping, you idiot.” Rocket replied, voice groggy as he tried to break out of his sleepiness. He hadn’t gotten much sleep since they ended up on the planet, spending all of his time trying to fix the ship so they could leave. “How did you even get on the ship?” It wasn’t a question he would have asked if he was more awake. It should have been obvious since Eddie had travelled with him before. He knew how to get on and off the ship, unlike the rest of the humans who lived in the city. “You already woke me up. You might as well help. What do you know about Quarnyx batteries?”

          mantis bounced excitedly, looking away from the stranger and over to rocket, a bright grin on her face. all the excitement of someone trying to steal the ship was flowing though her veins not to mention the way the man had flailed around had made her laugh. “we probably can’t taze him again… that was funny!” she turned her gaze back to the man and laid her hand on his forehead, the tips of her antennae glowing as she put them to sleep

    “We can definitely tase him if he tries to steal from us again. It’s in the rules. Don’t ask me what rules because telling you is also against the rules.” Rocket said, ready to tase the stranger is he even looked at Groot the wrong way. It was the most entertainment he had been given since crash landing on Terra. “Thanks, Antennas.” 

Gamora hadn’t meant to change her way of acting but being hereon Terra was a weird enough event to see Peter in his natural element that seemed strange to her. It made her think about her feelings towards the man compared to the other examples she had to use. “Have I been acting weird, Rocket? I suppose I’ve been pushed out of my element being here like you.”

       Rocket shrugged. In all honesty, his mind had been on other things like trying to get off Terra so he hadn’t been paying a lot of attention to what Gamora was doing or how she was acting. The only evidence he had for her acting any differently was Groot’s word. “Well then you should help me get us off this lazy excuse for a planet.” 

         “Only if we cross our fingers.” Rocket replied, tone hopeful. Terra wasn’t a planet that the Halfworlder exactly liked. If he had been flying the ship they would have crash landed anywhere except for the planet they had. “Maybe if we’re lucky enough someone will do it for us.” 

      Rocket stopped in his tracks, turning around to look up at the human. “Just let me do the talking and we’ll be fine. This is the only place on the planet to get a Quarnyx battery so I need you to shut up and look tough. Also, I might have to trade your arm. Let’s go.” 

       “Good he’s not dead. We can celebrate later when the ship isn’t about to blow up.” Rocket huffed, walking away from the person who had finally awoke. If they had been smart they wouldn’t have tried to steal from the ship. What was Rocket supposed to do? Not taze them? Yeah, right. Pulling up his holo-pad, he looked at the blinking screen to try and find the problem. “Maybe you can make him go night night again.” 

       Shrugging, he looked over at the woman. She had been acting weird, well, weirder than normal lately. Groot said it had something to do with Quill but Rocket wasn’t sure what Quill would have to do with it. “Yeah, I guess they do sometimes. Is that why you’ve been acting weird?”

         A laugh bursted out of Rocket, coming straight from his belly as he leaned back in his chair. That was the most hilarious thing he had heard since crash landing on Terra. At least humans had humor, that couldn’t be said for every species. “Ah, good one, Quill.” He wiped the tears that had started to fall from his water line. 

       “Yeah, kinda hard to sleep when you’re bumbling so freaking loud.” Rocket complained, pushing himself out of the small bed he had made. His fur out of place as he stretched, yawning as he caught his breath. “Now can I go back to sleep or are you gonna keep talking to yourself like someone who had a few too many drinks at happy hour?”

“Heyyyy Rocket,” Peter was pretty sure Rocket was pissed at him. As much as they were friends (and they were) both of them happened to be talented in different expertise. Peter’s being ‘pissing people off’ and Rocket’s being ‘getting pissed off’. This didn’t bode well when the ship felt particularly tiny and they were stuck on Peter’s home world (which honestly made him more and more uncomfortable by the minute, he missed his home, and now it felt more far away then ever. No more walkmans, no nothing. “Hows it going buddy?” Best to try and keep the non-existent peace while he still could. At least when Gamora was yelling at them for blowing something up Peter could properly say he started it!

     Rocket tried to ignore Peter, pretending like he couldn’t hear the man’s squeaky voice calling out to him. The longer they were stuck on Terra, the more irritable Rocket grew. It was one of the least interesting planets in the Galaxy and there was nothing worth stealing. Of course they would get stranded on Quill’s home planet. “It would be going a lot better if you weren’t breathing so loudly.” He leaned over, reaching for a nearby wrench. The Halfworder sighed, setting down the tool again when Peter didn’t immediately walk away. Glancing at baby Groot, he gave the other alien a knowing look before turning to look at the human. “Can’t you go find somewhere else to stick your big fat nose? You’ll just break this too.”
