Hello! If you're new here, I am the writer Brenna Alexander. I am a genderfluid author (she/they) who writes QUEER stories. I am currently working diligently on finishing my first book, Linger. It is intended to be a series about a gay man on his journey to live and love again after loss.

I'm so close to finishing this, I can taste it!

I post writing tips and my own observations occasionally, as well as updates on my progress with my novel when I have something to tell.

I've been a busy little writer bee with my book, so I haven't been around much. Mostly getting some scrolling and reblogging in when I have time.

I haven't been listening to anything specific except my current project's writing Playlist but me being me, I get bored with too much of the same thing after a while.

1. Going Shopping - The Strokes

My numero uno! I'm a day one Strokes fan so if it's new Strokes it's for me!

2. Love is the Drug - Roxy Music

I've been bopping around to that for a bit now. Sometimes I play all my favorite songs on random when I don't know what to listen to. And this has been my whole personality for a while now.

3. Crunch Punch - The Voidz

I'm ashamed to say I've only fairly recently really started to dive into the Voidz, Julian Casablancas' other band. I don't know why it took me so long. But maybe I wasn't ready for it when it first came out. It's definitely my thing now.

4. Hounds of Love - Kate Bush

A classic! Of course.

5. Dancing Barefoot - Patti Smith

It feels weird to say this but I haven't really connected to Patti's music until recently. As if you hit a certain age and it just clicks. Like you need some life experience to really connect to it maybe. Weird. But I'm loving it now.

Honorable mention to something that's recently fallen into my lap:

That's some stuff I wouldn't have found organically on my own, but i'm glad it's found me.

The closer I get to publishing my book, the more I had doubts about hiding behind a name that isn't mine. I've always thought it was cool how authors changed their names for different projects. But since writing books is not my only goal in life, and I'll hopefully put that media production degree to good use once again, I figured I'd rather just have ppl call me by my name, and maybe connect the dots to all of my endeavors with no barrier.
