I am excited to feature @theisleofparadise for #texturetuesday ! #isleofparadisegiftedme their Self Tanning Butter, which is a tanner and rich moisturizer in one. Stand out ingredients are avocado, coconut, and peppermint oils for deep hydration, smoothing, vitamins A + C for improved elasticity, & refreshing skin. It delivers the most natural looking tan out of all of the self tanners I’ve tried in recent years. I am pretty pale and have not had any luck with self tanners in the past because they all turn out very orange on me. Not the IOP Self Tanning Butter! In just 4-6 hours the incredibly rich, hydrating body butter color corrects to even out skin tone while also imparting a delicious, healthy glow. Immediately upon application, however, skin is left illuminated with a subtle golden sheen. It is a beautiful finish, both the immediate result and the final tan. The only area I do not apply the IOP Self Tanning Butter is my face, so I cannot answer for how it works in that area. I would recommend a different #isleofparadise self tan product for it. Keep in mind the color is gradual, so you can build it to your liking. My favorite shade is after day 2 of usage! I end up with a medium-ish tan shade (no orange here unless you forget to wash hands or moisturize the knees/ elbows/ ankles first!) which truly is a feat since I have only ever burned in the sun. I have absolutely been loving the Hydrasoft Mango + Macadamia Intense Body Balm lately, so it’s my #firstscoopfriday + #thiccthursday + #selfcaresaturday pick!! In 2 weeks I have noticed skin that is healthier overall, as well as skin that is softer, more hydrated and plump, and brighter with less skin irritations. For a belated #texturetuesday discussion, let’s go over the mask I did for #maskingmonday ! I’ve been using my 𝙀𝙡𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙨 𝙎𝙪𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙑𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙑𝙚𝙜𝙜𝙞𝙚 𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙠 over the last 2 weeks bc I over did it on chemical exfoliation & my skin was crying out for help. This mask has been super helpful since it provides deep hydration, overall brightening, & nourishment of vitamins + minerals. While I’ve enjoyed this mask, I will not repurchase it simply because there are so many other Elemis products calling my name!! The only Elemis product in my beauty arsenal is the ℙ𝕣𝕠-ℂ𝕠𝕝𝕝𝕒𝕘𝕖𝕟 ℝ𝕠𝕤𝕖 𝔽𝕒𝕔𝕚𝕒𝕝 𝕆𝕚𝕝 (which I adore). For #watershotwednesday I wanted to take the opportunity to share the perfume I received for free from @influenster and @jimmychoo in exchange for my honest review. 𝕀 𝕎𝕒𝕟𝕥 ℂ𝕙𝕠𝕠 is a heavy oriental floral scent with hints of citrus, sugar, and fruit. It is quite ʜʏᴘɴᴏᴛɪᴄ & d͜͡r͜͡e͜͡a͜͡m͜͡y͜͡, thanks to red spider lily and jasmine sambac. As a whole, the perfume embodies ᴅᴇsɪʀᴇ, ᴘᴀssɪᴏɴ, and ᴍʏsᴛɪǫᴜᴇ. Who doesn’t need a little of that in their life?! Let me tell you more about the key fragrance notes: 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀: mandarin juice, velvet peach 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀: red spider lily, jasmine sambac 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀: vanilla, benzoin, resinoid My first impression was that 𝕀 𝕎𝕒𝕟𝕥 ℂ𝕙𝕠𝕠 is a sexy, sultry fragrance very heavy in the vanilla and peach fragrance notes that is also long- wearing (8-10 ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑠). While it smelled gorgeous initially, it gave me a headache and ultimately didn’t work with my body chemistry. It’s so unfortunate because it smells divine when I first spray it, but once it warms up the peach and sugary vanilla notes are too sickeningly sweet on me. If you enjoy these types of oriental floral fragrances, then 𝕀 𝕎𝕒𝕟𝕥 ℂ𝕙𝕠𝕠 is most definitely the fragrance for you! Let’s close out #whitewednesday / #wowwednesday with @goldfadenmd , one of my favorite plant-based skincare brands. My first introduction to the brand was their Bright Eyes eye cream & Doctor’s Scrub microderm Exfoliator in my @ipsy boxes a year and a half ago {see previous reviews}, and I quickly fell head over heels in love. Since then I’ve added a few pieces (pictured above) and continue to be wowed at the product quality, thoughtful ingredients that are clean/ vegan / cruelty-free, & brand’s commitment to sustainability. Dermatologist Dr. Gary Goldfaden founded Goldfaden MD to mimic the radiant effects of his in-office procedures. He developed innovative skincare solutions that work for every skin type because they are powered by plant-based actives and other natural, clean ingredients. No synthetics here! There are an overwhelming amount of PROS for this brand & their products, but I have only one CON- their pricing. Each item I’ve either purchased at discount pricing through @ipsy or received in my subscription box. There are so many other products I want to try from Goldfaden, but with the cost factored in it’s a purchase I’ll have to plan and budget for since I’m a stay-at-home-mom. Despite the cost I DO think it is worth it because the products are just that good! And due to the incredible quality I find I need to use less product so I’m able to stretch each container further than their budget-friendly counterpart. I’ve been playing with my @Wander_Beauty stash today. It may be small right now, but isn’t that just a good excuse to add some more #WanderBeauty items to it in the {hopefully} near future??!! I have my eye on so many of their multipurpose products because I know they will streamline both my makeup routine and my makeup bag. As a mom on the go I definitely appreciate double duty beauty items! My current fave of this lot is the Lip Retreat Oil. It feels so luscious & moisturizing that I need it in another shade.💞 I love and adore the feel and finish of the Nude Illusion foundation & that it has some wonderful skincare ingredients in it (hello, niacinamide!) because it makes my 44/ almost 45 year old skin look flawless. The one & only issue I have is that I was shade matched incorrectly and not allowed to return it to Sephora due to a long quarantine last year. I’ve tried mixing the 2 shades so I don’t waste them, but it’s not quite right. I will have to purchase the in-between shade, Fair-Light, for my birthday next month, & fingers crossed third time’s the charm!😆😂🥴 The Wanderess Rush Eyeshadow palette is a staple of mine because it gives me shadows to do my usual bronze or pinky-nude look, as well as shades so I can go more dramatic for a night out. It’s so versatile! This is my second purchase of Rush, but after this I want to venture out to a different Wander eye palette, or even a full face one. I received the Frame Your Face Micro Brow Pencil in a subscription box, but I quickly fell hook, line, & sinker. I like that it’s retractable and has a spoolie on one end. I also love the natural, brow-like look I get from this bc of the precise, fine pencil. Best of all it is smudge-proof! 👉🏼FYI, The only Wander Beauty item not pictured here is the Glow Ahead Illuminating Face Oil, & that’s because I mixed it in my moisturizer while doing skin prep & before taking this photo. I use it to set my makeup or refresh my dull complexion throughout the day thanks to its antioxidant protection, minerals, & nutrients that hydrate, nourish, brighten, revitalize, and soothe stressed or dehydrated skin. My search for chemical exfoliators that did not simultaneously burn and melt my face off culminated with @versed . They have 2 of the best overniht options that produce smooth, even-toned, and super glowy skin upon waking. The first option, Doctor’s Visit Instant Resurfacing Mask, is used once a week and is better (IMO) than a salon chemical peel. Check out my review a few posts back! I’m devoting #thiccthursday to @versed ‘s Zero G Smoothing Eye Cream because it is absolutely heavenly! It perfectly firms, smooths, and moisturizes the entire orbital area, especially my fine lines + crows feet. Thanks for that algae extracts, peptides, & olive oil!! It also plays well under my makeup, due to mica that illuminates my dark circles so they’re immediately brightened and no longer noticeable. It’s like a #Snapchat soft-focus filter!! We know by now that Versed is synonymous with affordable skincare that is on par with luxury and department store brands, yet can be purchased on their website or @target. #targetstyle Everything I’ve encountered so far is under $20 and performs just as good as, or BETTER than, products 3-5 times in price. I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas while I was gone! I took a little break to spend time w/ my family & remember my mom, pictured here w/ me on her birthday + 4 days before my first child was born. My momma passed away on Christmas Eve 16 years ago, just over a year after this picture was taken. No matter the time that passes the loss still feels fresh in Nov & Dec because of the holidays, her birthday, & her death day. We were so close because she was my only parent & I am an only child, so that bond feels unbreakable, even in death. This year I made a conscious effort to remember her healthy + reminisce about all of the good times we had, & you know what? It was so much more bearable & for the first time in 15 years I didn’t cry or mope my way through the holidays. It took way too long to reach that point, but I’ll still chalk it up as a win!
