I am excited to feature @theisleofparadise for #texturetuesday ! #isleofparadisegiftedme their Self Tanning Butter, which is a tanner and rich moisturizer in one. Stand out ingredients are avocado, coconut, and peppermint oils for deep hydration, smoothing, vitamins A + C for improved elasticity, & refreshing skin. It delivers the most natural looking tan out of all of the self tanners I’ve tried in recent years. I am pretty pale and have not had any luck with self tanners in the past because they all turn out very orange on me. Not the IOP Self Tanning Butter! In just 4-6 hours the incredibly rich, hydrating body butter color corrects to even out skin tone while also imparting a delicious, healthy glow. Immediately upon application, however, skin is left illuminated with a subtle golden sheen. It is a beautiful finish, both the immediate result and the final tan. The only area I do not apply the IOP Self Tanning Butter is my face, so I cannot answer for how it works in that area. I would recommend a different #isleofparadise self tan product for it. Keep in mind the color is gradual, so you can build it to your liking. My favorite shade is after day 2 of usage! I end up with a medium-ish tan shade (no orange here unless you forget to wash hands or moisturize the knees/ elbows/ ankles first!) which truly is a feat since I have only ever burned in the sun. REVIEW: Amika Hair Blow Dryer Brush - #amikagiftedme their NEW 2-in-1 hair tool that combines a round brush and blow dryer to easily and quickly create a smooth, shiny, and bouncy blowout using negative ion technology. KEY FEATURES: •3 speed settings •tourmaline coated barrel •oval barrel to deliver extra root lift and volume •long nylon ball tip bristles detangle and smooth •short bristles increase bounce, shine and polish •ultra-lightweight design MY THOUGHTS: I’m a big @amika styling tool fan but wasn’t sure about this one initially given the crazy amount of hair I have. My hair is a combo of curl pattern 2B and 3B as well for reference. Although the Blow Dryer Brush initially seems large, it truly is lightweight, great quality, and not difficult to work with at all. For me it was quick to dry, left my hair very smooth and shiny with lots of volume at the roots which is always my goal since my hair gets weighted down so easily. Since I’m not a fan of perfectly straight hair on myself I played around with the oval shape, utilizing he wider side and slimmer sides to add a little bend and it was pretty good at adding a slight wave to accentuate my layers and texture.The nylon bristles also glide really nicely through the hair (even my overly abundant hair) which I appreciate. Overall, I think this is a great option for achieving a quick, salon-quality blowout that could work from anyone to a @lisarinna length shag to @shaymitchell’s mermaid locks, and those with curl patterns in the 1,2 and 3 group (possibly even 4a & 4b).
