Advice
I am nearly halfway through my fourth semester as a music education major. If I can give just one morsel of advice to anyone thinking of majoring in music someday, it's that you should not major in music.
No one outside the department will understand how your classes could possibly be demanding, no one outside the department will understand why your 10 semester schedule is squeezed into 7, no one outside the department will be of any academic use to you, you may not eat every day and you will live in perpetual anxiety, stress, frustration and disappointment regardless of your outlook or perspective on life.
I refuse to stretch or sugarcoat the truth. Those are the facts of pursuing a degree in music. Now pick up your instrument and get your ass back in the practice room.
