Pinned Post: Introduction
Hello there. Sorry for the bland blog decor (waiting for a cool/crazy moment to screenshot)
I'm theaterinpixels, also known as Fenriso on AO3. I've been a lifelong fan of video games and a huge story maniac, so it wasn't long before the two obsessions married. Consoles are prohibitively expensive where I live AND I'm allergic to multiplayer and mobile, so I've had no choice but emulation, and why would I complain when there's a wealth of classic retro games around?
I love JRPGs and story-driven video games. I like to turn game mechanics into plot points, translate scenes into literary form, try my hand at different genres (from fluff to edge) and write about unexplored topics! I draw on occasion, but the chances of my art being online-worthy are slim (I don't have a stylus or use paints). My fandoms: Final Fantasy (especially 6): My current hyperfixation, thanks to being the numero-uno story-driven JRPG out there! Very much in the honeymoon phase right now. Please note that my interest is skewed toward the SNES era (though I've known VII quite a bit due to pop culture publicity).
Fire Emblem: I like this one most for the gameplay, looks like strategy RPGs are becoming my thing! Ironically, I started with Mystery of the Emblem due to wanting to experience the series' evolution organically. Completed Book I of that game, and now playing Blazing Blade. I'll try Genealogy in the future, and looking forward to FEFW!
Pokemon: Where I got my fanfiction debut (though it's not that good and my tastes have changed a lot since then). Slowly getting back into the franchise with my Poke-sideblog: @notanotherfrenzyplanter ; that's where all my Pokemon posts will be hosted from now on (just in time for PLZA!) Don't be scared or suspicious of the login wall, I'm taking extra caution to avoid fandom bad apples.
I also have a Reddit and a Discord, but I'm not active in those two right now (and Discord's always-online culture is not my cup of tea). You may DM my tumblr, but please note that I am not always available (due to time zones and working and all that); I generally treat them more like emails.
Disclaimer: If you see reblogs of ship art on my blogs, it's not necessarily because I ship the characters (I SALS, but have a few favorite pairings); at least I appreciate the OP's quality of artwork.
