Hellloooo! 🌿🐸🌿I know no one is going to see this but here something that I just have to walk away from I've spent so dang long on it! I had fun trying a super duper blended style but in ready to be done haha. This is for @batillustration 's #drawthisintourstyle #dtiys event that ended a million years ago but I felt very inspired from it. I wish I could have created such a cool atmosphere as the original drawing, but I tried and this is the first time I've done a real background since 1907 I'm pretty sure. Hello hello, I'm here again with another ◾check in◾ and addition to "You and I both didn't realize how big I was until seeing it side by side." (I feel silly posting this as I just ate a cookie, but y'know....#balance .) 🌸1st photo is Easter a few years ago vs the other day, 2nd is that same summer vs recently, 3rd it's last spring vs the other day, 4th is my fave around diagnosis vs recently, 5th is like beginning of working out vs now, 6th is my face last spring vs recently. 🌸SO it's been about 6 months of working out consistently now, scale still hasn't moved since the initial 40lbs, and I've still got a wayyyys to go to meet my personal goals (which are based on activities and body area goals not numbers). But I've never showed some of these pictures, the first especially because even though it's a cute family photo with the cutest lil one, I look at myself and I cry, I'm so embarrassed. But that's what #depression does, it sends you into that uncontrollable spiral you feel like you can't get out of. I will tell you I still have SEVERE depression, #anxiety and #stress but at least working out gives me some sense of control and relief (even though I still don't love working out, I haven't seen at show since I started prioritizing the gym I miss that! My schedule is wack 😫😥). It also has helped my #diabetes and B.S. stay on track so much easier (hence the occasional 🍪). Anyways despite my CONSTANT pain I do feel more flexible and somewhat easier to do daily tasks now (it was hard for me to get up and get going before and hard to do small things like even tying my shoes). I can almost do the splits again, handstands without the wall, cartwheels etc. I pay for it in the morning but it sometimes feels easier to shake. I have more feelings on this and my mixed feelings on my worth as a queer person and the feeling of being accepted as visually appealing and how this effects me as someone with invisible illnesses but maybe I'll save that for another post and just celebrate the little steps in taking my body back here. My first time in years doing alcohol markers again and first full #illustration in #copicmarkers + #copicpens it was a learning curve since I haven't done #marker work in years and years. It's one of my top preferred mediums though for sure. The only gripe I have is the shine on the black at the bottom of her body sludge from the pen ink, but now I know it happens so I can avoid it. I have a few more marker and colored pencil #illustrations I'm working on so hopefully I can finish them soon. ❇️🆕 This is a #dtiys (drawthisinyourstyle ) for @_pizzabacon #pizzabacon10k . I know the contest for it ended but I honestly didn't even realize there was a contest until I really read the post lol, I just liked the image and figured it'd be good practice for color. SO that being said this is the first color work I've done in approximately a hundred years, and it's color pencil which I haven't done in EVEN LONGER (I had switched to markers when I was still doing color because I liked the saturation). SO PLEASE be gentle (I also am working with just some random colors not my big collection I used to have, so the colors didn't quite come out as I expected). But it's interesting to dip my toes back into color. Colouring is tough and time consuming I can't believe I used to do large pieces in color pencil.... 🍞 Anyone know any good tutorials for drawing on apps on your phone?? 🍞 Another drawing I finished inking. I'm not super proud of this one because the thumbnail was so much better, it was more dynamic. Not sure how it got lost in the transfer to full size. I also don't love her hair or feet, but that's what happens when you're inking traditionally, can't erase and change it 🤷 Oh well, wanted to get some work up, it's been hard finishing things with 9-10 hours at the mall, 2 hours of commute and 2-3 hours at the gym eating up a lot of my day. I 1️⃣ want to say I have questions at the end of this so please read through and 2️⃣ posting this makes me SO SO SO uncomfortable because of my #body/image issues. But I'm posting it because I guess it is #healthy to celebrate things? And use it to motivate? Because I often with my health hit plateaus or get discouraged and backslide (especially around this time of year where my seasonal #depression is strongest) and I don't want to do that and I can feel it creeping in. I also don't want to give in to my eating #disorders obsessive tendencies. So as we all know I've been trying to get my #health since getting diagnosed with diabetes last year. Before diabetes I was at my unhealthiest, eating like shit, stress eating and trying and failing to get healthy repeatedly (I also have #physical injuries- ankle/foot/knee/back that I have to contend with). My heaviest was 220 and I feel like people couldn't tell my fluctuations because I always where big, black, baggy clothes but you also could totally tell. It was physically and emotionally exhausting. When I was so sick leading up to my diagnosis I ended up losing 35lbs in two weeks as one of my many symptoms. Post diagnosis i HAD to get it together and eat right. As I adjusted my diet considering I was still under extreme stress and not exercising/snacking too much I slowly gained maybe like 7-10lbs, but in my head it felt like more. I then lost it due to my emotional breakdown when my relationship ended, I just couldn't eat. But after that my determination to become a better person drove me back to the gym after years away (it also helps my #diabetes and is easy because I don't have my own place to live still). So I try to spend 4-6 nights at the gym after work. It's effing tough because I'm usually exhausted but I try to push myself. I try to just do it for my #health I don't try to focus on the #weight as I have in the past I only lost 5 more lbs and have stayed there.
