After making a post with ideas for Litten’s and Rowlet’s level-up movesets, here is a proposed level-up moveset for Popplio. Since I hope that its evolutions will be Water/Fighting, I made sure its movepool reflects that in a meaningful way. Moves in bold get STAB when used by Popplio. Moves in italic get STAB when used by one or more Popplio’s evolutions.
START - POUND START - LEER LEVEL 05 - Water Gun LEVEL 08 - Ice Shard LEVEL 13 - Pin Missle LEVEL 16 - Bubble Beam LEVEL 21 - Bulk Up LEVEL 24 - Encore LEVEL 29 - Aqua Tail LEVEL 33 - Brick Break LEVEL 38 - Icicle Crash LEVEL 42 - Wish LEVEL 47 - Rapid Spin LEVEL 52 - Hydro Pump
I envisaged Popplio and its evolutions to be physically-oriented Water/Fighting Pokemon with quite a few physical options and some special ones to use within your playthrough in case you need them. Good physical options like Ice Shard, Aqua Tail and Brick Break are paired up with some flavorful support moves like Bulk-Up, Encore and Rapid Spin, which could serve to enable this Pokemon to be used in a variety of different ways.
I’ve done a level-up movepool concept for Litten and have decided to do one for the other two starters, beginning with Rowlet. Since Rowlet’s double typing is confirmed from start, it’s rather easy to do that since we don’t have to speculate. Moves in bold get STAB when used by Rowlet and its evolutions.
START - Peck START - Growl LEVEL 05 - Leafage LEVEL 08 - Disarming Voice LEVEL 13 - Mega Drain LEVEL 16 - Air Cutter LEVEL 20 - Aromatherapy LEVEL 25 - Moonlight LEVEL 29 - Giga Drain LEVEL 32 - Air Slash LEVEL 38 - Steel Wing LEVEL 43 - Sleep Powder LEVEL 49 - Aura Sphere LEVEL 52 - Hurricane
As I imagined Rowlet and its evolutions as bulky special attackers, I designed Rowlet’s movepool to reflect that - plenty of special offensive options, along some physical ones, paired with a few choice support moves in flavor of an owl Pokemon - such as Moonlight and Sleep Powder.
Since I’m almost definitely picking Litten as my starter in Sun and Moon, I decided to come up with an idea for Litten’s level-up movepool, assuming a Fire/Dark final evolution. Moves in bold get STAB when used by Litten. Moves in italic get STAB when used by one or more of Litten’s evolutions.
START - Tackle START - Leer LEVEL 05 - Ember LEVEL 08 - Pursuit LEVEL 12 - Sludge LEVEL 17 - Fake Out LEVEL 21 - Flame Wheel LEVEL 25 - Snarl LEVEL 30 - Shadow Sneak LEVEL 33 - Flamethrower LEVEL 37 - Toxic Spikes LEVEL 41 - Sucker Punch LEVEL 45 - Will-O-Wisp LEVEL 48 - Destiny Bond LEVEL 52 - Fire Blast
As you can see, I opted for a movepool suited for a black cat concept behind Litten’s design, consisting mainly of Fire and Dark-type moves, with a few Ghost and Poison-type moves added into the mix. Since I envisage Litten and its evolutions being mixed attackers, I gave it an extensive mixed pool of both physical and special moves, with some offensive and defensive support thrown in, primarily to suit the flavor - Toxic Spikes, Will-O-Wisp and Destiny Bond.
I played around with the base stat totals and individual stats for the Alola starters and I came up wit ha few ideas. They would all share a base stat total of 315. Note that this is just an idea, not official in any way. However, this is what I would personally like to see from these Pokemon.
ROWLET LITTEN POPPLIO
HP: 50 HP: 40 HP: 60 ATK: 40 ATK: 70 ATK: 60 DEF: 55 DEF: 35 DEF: 50 SPA: 65 SPA: 75 SPA: 40 SPD: 65 SPD: 30 SPD: 50 SPE: 40 SPE: 65 SPE: 55

SOLGALEO and LUNAALA are our new boxart legendaries and they both seem to epic and mythic in design, all the while keeping the contrast between them in appearance and style. Besides having the almighty 680 base stat total common to boxart legendaries, their typing is the next big mystery. While in no way confirmed, I firmly believe that SOLGALEO will be a physical attacker of Fire/Fairy type and LUNAALA will be more specially-offensive and of Dark/Fairy type. The reasoning for this is their mythical, almost fairy-tale like design and their appearance which leads to their primary typing - Fire and Dark respectively.
What is your idea on this? Any comments or suggestions?
The first details for Pokémon Sun & Moon have been revealed. These details come via the first footage of the game which showcases some new Pokémon including the starters and the legends. It will be released on November 18th 2016 in the US and Japan and November 23rd in Europe. The game takes place in the Alola Region and th three starters are the Grass/Flying Rowlet, the Fire-type Litten and the Water-type Popplio. The Japanese trailer also confirms that you can alter your skin pigment in the game, just like X & Y. Keep checking back as we get more details.

{ THE PARADISE AWAITS }
I’ve heard a lot of talk about seeing characters of different races and ethnicities in Sun and Moon trailer and I just wanted to point out that the majority of the Hawaiian population is actually of Asian descent, not Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander. Over 40% of the population is of Asian descent, compared to just under 10% of people who are Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islanders. Not to mention that even people of White descent comprise around 25% of the Hawaiian population. It’s also worth mentioning that people of mixed or two races comprise just over 20% of the population.
So, what does this mean? Well, in short, no, not everyone, not even the majority of the population is Native. The majority are of Asian descent - the Japanese, the Chinese, the Korean and so on. Those are the people who should be represented as the majority if this is to be accurate to the actual place of Hawaii. What these games should represent is what Hawaii is - not the importance of race or ethnicity but rather the harmony of people living on these islands regardless of their race and ethnicity. All of them working together as one, united and strong.
You can pick and choose your skin color, you can be whatever you want to be. That’s the important part. People in the Alola region can be of any race or ethnicity (although they should represent the Hawaiian population accurately), but you have the ability to pick and choose what you want to be. It needs to be mentioned that the ability to pick and choose your eye and skin color should be the default from now on - not just for me, but for thousands across the world who usually don’t get to choose. In Pokemon, all should be included equally!
Starter Pokemon for Sun and Moon have been revealed. The owl is a Grass/Flying type and is named Rowlet. It’s notable because it’s the first starter Pokemon since Bulbasaur to have a secondary typing in its base form. The black cat is our Fire-type of this generation and is called Litten. Finally, the happy seal-looking Pokemon is Popplio.
I’m just going to come out and say what a lot of us have been thinking - Alola starters, at least in their primary form, just look odd. Compare them to any other generation and it becomes obvious that these three are just don’t hit that spot between cute and cool, but instead fall somewhere else entirely. Rowlet is quite cute, yes, but quite ditzy and stout. Litten is not really cute, and while it may not be going for that, it should still have had a wider appeal. Popplio is very cute, but not just cool enough. Those are the criteria that starters need to fit and there three just don’t do that effectively, especially after the Chespin/Fennekin/Froakie trio, one of the most widely-liked trio of starters ever.
However, what they may lack in their basic form - they make up with potential for further improvement. By this I mean that their eventual future evolutions have quite an interesting and interesting path to take. Rowlet can evolve into a bulky owl-like sage with a lot of status and support moves and design based off of some of the most notable owl species. Litten can eventually becomes a menacing Fire/Dark tiger with a great deal of Speed and balanced attacking stats to use both physical and special moves effectively. Popplio can become a Water/Fighting sea leopard with good all-around defenses and high Attack.
All in all, while I’m a bit unsure about the basic forms, I have no doubts their final evolutions should look amazing, so I’m pretty happy. I’m most likely picking Litten in the end. What about you?

No seriously, how cool would it be if when you finish your Sun and Moon adventure, your regional professor tells you “Listen, I have another task for you. The region known as Kalos is in grave danger. I need you to go there and find the Pokemon Zygarde...”
