WIP TIME AGAIN! \o/
Back on the remake game for Fakemon - here we have overworked thumbnail sketches for a 3-stage line, a shiny concept, silhouette group for size comparison, and a couple detail/exploratory doodles.
A long, LONG time ago, I had an idea for a family of ghost-flying peafowl 'mons, and there's a load of conceptual rambles under the cut, but in short, these guys' designs are a work in progress, and a fun hop forward from older renditions (also in the cut below!) ^v^
togetic?
Togetic!!!
I…..hm. Yeah, Togetic. Togetic has the honour of being the evolution of Togepi, which is worth mentioning because Togepi got marketed HARD back during the transition from Gen I to Gen II and then throughout the remainder of the gen. Togepi was a representative of the newly-introduced category of pokemon: Baby Pokemon. Basically species that are freshly hatched from eggs that learn few moves and are unable to breed until they evolve. And Togepi’s great! But Togetic….really kinda just existed so that Togepi actually had something to evolve into.
Which isn’t to say Togetic is a bad pokemon or anything, it just feels very much like an afterthought to Togepi. Usually a pokemon’s final forms and first forms are somewhat balanced in popularity through one being cuter and the other being cooler and more useable in-game, but Togetic isn’t even particularly cool or useable in-game regardless so Togepi kinda just outshines it in every respect possible. Then Togekiss would later be introduced in Gen IV, giving Togetic the role of forgettable middle evo, which actually feels much more appropriate for it and is easier to appreciate it as.
But yeah uh. It used to be Normal/Flying-type, one of the most common and bland combos, before Gen VI’s introduction of Fairies bestowed it with the lovely Fairy/Flying-type. That helps a lot with determining what it even is, since it’s a fairy! And it can apparently scatter like, happiness dust? Seems like a fairy-y thing to do. Even with that extra fairy flavour, though….it’s still a bit boring.
Shiny situation isn’t stellar either, just being an offer-white and swapping the reds and blues. In some portrayals (like the modern Sugimori art above) this white’s already used on the base form anyway! Hhhh.
Togetic is a pokemon that’s hard to get excited about, but I mean, at least it’s still pretty cute?? It’s good that Togekiss came along because this is a case where the evo line really needed something to complete it; Togetic just doesn’t have enough oomph to end on. Sorry Togetic :(
Throws Shiny Stone/10.
Flying-Type Croconaw from the Pokemon Fool’s Gold rom hack! So glad I saw and drew this incredible creature <3
INKTOBER2019 Day 10 - Pattern - Vivillon
oliver stop forgetting to upload inktobers challenge
“Vivillon's wing pattern depends on the real-world geographic location set on the game the Pokémon was generated in. There are a total of 20 known patterns.” - Bulbapedia
I chose the Polar pattern because it’s my favourite (and also I wasn’t about to draw 20 vivillons without having copy-and-paste available)

#015 Peepling - Fledgling Pokemon - Normal/Flying
It is known to recklessly imprint on anything, from its trainer, to other Pokémon, to computers. Even so, its parents will never stop supporting it and will keep feeding it until it is strong enough to fend for itself.
#016 Heimate - Urban Bird Pokemon - Normal/Flying
It is estimated that no fewer than 10 million homes across Valoe have a nest hidden somewhere on the property. If their neighbourhood is under threat, they will swarm the attacker viciously.
Well, I haven’t posted any art for over two weeks mostly thanks to my vacation, but I’m back now.
This is one of my set of four Oricorio fakemon evolutions, with each Forme getting its own evolution. Psycorio evolves from Oricorio-Pa’u and has a defensive stat spread.
A sketch I drew last night.
