Is it weird to think that Jake Scully as a Na'vi is more attractive than his human form?
(Anyway, the movie was phenomenal! Highly recommend you watch if you haven't seen it)

A word on the US Presidential Election '24
Credits: A really simple guide to the presidential vote
[It’s been about a week since the US Presidential Election and realised I had this saved in my drafts folder.]
Back in 2016 the day right after Trump won the election my homeroom teacher got up to say a few words to us. He said something along the lines of how when he was in high school during 9/11 everybody thought the world was going to end. Of course, the world did not end, but the moment and everything leading up to and following it felt like the world was heading towards the apocalypse.
My teacher told us not to worry (at least not too much) because even though the world seems like it’s going to end, it won’t. For context this was in Australia and everybody in my class talked about it non-stop. Eight years later I’m still thinking about that. I wonder what my homeroom teacher would say now. Would he feel the same, or does he now think the world is bordering on the lines of the end? I hope not.
I believe we have all faced adversity and thoughts of world-impending doom over the past couple of years (e.g. a pandemic, just to name a few). I truly want to believe that we can still see some good in the light of this US election. I know it’s easy to focus on the negatives, because they’re not just negatives, they are impeding human rights and causing distress to so many people. I know that right now a lot of people are hurting, anxious and experiencing genuine fear. I want to tell people that the world is not going to end. It will not. We have the power to do things, to change the trajectory. It may not be a lot of power, but take what you have, and use it to the best of your abilities.
Do not let this election stop you from fighting. Don’t let it beat you down. Don’t let it stop you. Keep going forwards because it’s what we must do. The very heart of this message is to remember to be kind to one another. Humankind is just one soul. We must relearn how to be kind, empathetic and patient in this polarising age.
I guess the whole point of this post is to essentially reiterate to not give up, to not give in and to keep on going. This 2024 election may be a bump in the road but in the end it’s just part of the longer journey in achieving the desired outcome.
The desired outcome, is up to you, think about what is worth fighting for. But hopefully, everybody, the citizens of the world will realise and see what is the one goal we should all be fighting for.
Literally screamed when I saw this
Was just stalking on the Ginny and Georgia wiki and saw this under Ginny's bio
I have a love- hate relationship with this show, but it's honestly worth the watch. Was on a wave of emotions when I watched season 2. (Also, watch Ginny and Georgia S2 if you can)!

Just watched Avatar: The Way of the Water, and people legit started clapping in the cinemas
[Like it was an amazing film to say the least, well worth the wait, but I would never clap in the cinemas even after a movie like that. Wasn't even good clapping, it died down once they realised no one else was doing it.]
Normalise not doing anything for Christmas
[Like doing stereotypical "Christmassy" things. Why did I feel this mysterious pressure to listen to Christmas carols when I just wanted to listen to the same 5 songs I listen to every day?]
My terrible academic writing
(Literally what it is, really bad writing that needs more proofreading).
Again, I was looking at old school stuff (just doing your average spring cleaning). I had to write a book review on this book called 'Runner' by Robert Newton. At the very end I wrote the target audience for this book. I wrote, (quote for quote) 'I would recommend this book to people are rather athletic and like running as they'll be able to connect with the main character and know what it's like when running.'
You can't see it in the photo I took, but my teacher literally wrote a question mark next to the underlined sentence.
For context, 'Runner' is set in Melbourne in the early 1900s with the main character Charlie being a runner for a gangster called Squizzy Taylor (who was real apparently). So, my target audience isn't far off I suppose.
And if you think my writing is any better at twenty-years old, here's an error I made on my essay for one of my classes.
'Cite maybe'. I did not see this until my tutor pointed it out in the feedback. Both laughed and cried when I read this.
Very Suggestive Hearts
Was looking through some old primary school stuff and found this card dedicated to my parents. I know they're meant to be hearts... but they look like something else much more.
Lol, my friend and I recently watched Falling for Christmas. We couldn't help but notice how the father and the love interest literally look the same...
They have pretty much the same hair. We could not tell which was which at the end of the film.

Thoughts
End of Autumn, End of Semester, Beginning of new opportunities?
-Questioning whether I've done enough in my first year of university-
"So when you hear this autumn song Remember the best times are yet to come" – Manic Street Preachers, Autumnsong
As May and semester one comes to an end, I find myself being pensive and perhaps a bit too maudlin as per usual.
I had my final day of classes last Wednesday and an Annual General Meeting (AGM) for one of my clubs. As the electoral procedures went, I couldn’t help but wonder whether I was doing enough. By that I mean taking on leadership roles or being more active in the community.
Back in year 12 I thought I was becoming more confident in public speaking and taking up leadership roles. Ever since starting uni, I feel like I’ve progressed backwards. I get anxious when participating in tutorials and feel terribly guilty when I realise that I didn’t say a single word in the whole sixty minutes.
I guess that’s what happens when a person overthinks and ends up comparing to others too often. I think I tend to forget the achievements that I have made during my first semester back on campus.
I think that goes for everybody, when we start comparing ourselves negatively, we tend to forget what we have achieved or attempted in life, and we shouldn’t downgrade what we accomplish as minuscule.
I forget that I did things out of my comfort zone, such as going on camp knowing nobody and coming out of it with knowing a few people. I’ve initiated conversation with complete strangers in the first few weeks of class and now I’ve developed a steady friendship with them.
In the words of Manic Street Preachers, the best times are yet to come. Autumn is finishing up its season soon and perhaps it is a sign that there is still so much for me to try out and experience.
